ASHES TO AUTUMN

The finale: The Fiction We Live

Justin arranged an appointment but he had to insure that Brian would show up.  He stood at Cynthia's desk making her promise to give the booklet to Brian as he watched her pencil in his name on Brian's calendar.  That done all Justin had to do was wait for the appointed time.

Later Brian confirmed his appointments with Cynthia.  He saw her hesitation and growled out, "what?" "Uh just this boss" Brian saw the booklet in her hand and snatched it out.  In a calmer voice, "when?" "Tonight" "Okay, see you tomorrow" "Goodnight boss" "I hope so Cynthia, I hope so"

Brian settled back down into his chair behind his desk and read the highlighted response monologue to an earlier song.

The Fiction We Live

You might be just what I need, no I would not change a thing
Been dreaming of this so long, but we only exist in this song
The thing is I'm not worth the sorrow
But if you come and meet me tomorrow
I will hold you down, fold you in, deep, deep, deep in the fiction we
live
I break in two over you, I break in two and if a piece of you dies
Autumn I will bring you back to life, of course I see you, I do

Brian waited for Justin to arrive.

As Justin approached Brian's office he felt his heart about to pound right out of his chest.

Justin crossed the threshold and regained control over his life and their love.
