Here's one of TAG's plot bunnies to start off this thread! Hope someone writes it!
Justin volunteers as a test subject for this new company that purports to be able to find your soulmate for you via an implant that measures biometric responses occurring during interactions with potential mates. With the chip in place, he ventures out onto Liberty Avenue and after wandering around for most of the night he ends up at the Diner. That’s when the soulmate chip alerts him it’s found his perfect mate . . . Which, according to all the expert algorithms, turns out to be Michael. Justin agrees to go out with Michael and starts to get to know the Liberty Avenue gang, but something just doesn’t feel right. He’s just not all that attracted to Michael, no matter what the chip says. Eventually, he meets Michael’s best friend, Brian, who had previously been out of town for work. When Justin & Brian see each other Justin feels an instant jolt of attraction. Meanwhile the chip is telling him that Brian’s unacceptable and warning him off, even going so far as to cause Justin pain when he cheats on Michael with Brian. Doesn’t help that Brian doesn’t believe in soul mates or even dating. Eventually, though, Justin picks b anyway and the two conspire to short circuit the chip so j can be with the man he chooses.
