Chapter 14 - Last Stop

Brian turned off the light and crawled into bed, as Justin turned towards him with that sunshine smile that still took his breath away.

He had remained in the hospital for two weeks, after which he required some additional time at a rehabilitation center for his leg. It took almost no time at all for the guys to talk it through and agree that it would be pointless to move Justin from the beautiful and perfectly apportioned home that he had created, especially since his studio space was perfect, and Brian was just as enthralled with the rooftop garden as Justin had always been. While Justin had shown him pictures of that particular space while they were planning, he was absolutely speechless when he actually saw it in person that very afternoon.

Now, just over a month since his accident, Brian had also finally gotten a glimpse of those previously forbidden second floor bedrooms in Justin’s townhouse. He had opened and closed each door quietly, perusing the unique decorating styles each room had to offer, until he stood outside the room that he knew from Justin’s description was the master.

As Justin opened the door, Brian’s breath caught in his throat. He could barely believe that he had Justin back in his life, far less back in his bed. Well, actually, it was Justin’s bed, but that was a mere technicality, as they had already made the decision to legally combine all their assets and file documents to protect each other from those errant friends and family members who might try to attempt to claim entitlement should something happen to either of them.

Tonight was the first night they would be spending here together, and it was almost amusing how tentative they were being with each other, given how well they knew each other in the purely biblical sense.

Brian ran the back of his hand softly across Justin’s cheek, as his eyes brimmed with unshed tears.

“Hey, are you ok?” Justin whispered softly. “What’s going through your mind?”

Brian hesitated only a second, and then said, “When I had cancer, I wanted more than anything to tell you how much I needed you, and how glad I was that you were there. I was so fucking scared, but even more than scared of the cancer, was the weight of my fear of seeming weak to you. Then I walked away from you that day, and nothing could ever blindside me more. Now I know that there is nothing left for me to be afraid of, except trying to live without you. I love you, Justin, I think you know that by now. But what I need to say to you is so much more. I am in love with you. I have been for so long, but I didn’t know what to do with that. I never expected to feel anything like this, it is so consuming that it terrified me. I thought that if I said it, it would disappear, or worse yet become a shackle tying you to me unwillingly like my parent’s marriage. I didn’t know how not to fuck it up. They say the truest way to find out you can’t live without something is to have had it, and lost it, and find yourself without. Please don’t ever leave me. I can’t exist without you.”

Justin kissed away the tear that ran down Brian’s cheek. He kissed both his eyes, then the tip of his nose, and spent a great deal of time on those delectable lips, as he nipped and sucked at them, causing them to turn a rosy shade of pink. Continuing down the exquisite body lying prone before him, he worried at one small nipple, then the other, until they were both hard pebbles under his caress. Brian began to writhe under him, already aroused beyond belief. There had been very little opportunity for anything other than a few quick hand jobs while he was in the rehab center and so, for the past month, Brian’s main source of relief had been his own right hand. Now, every touch from Justin sent jolts directly to his copiously leaking cock, which had throbbed to full erection almost at Justin’s first touch. The older man actually whimpered as Justin’s chest rubbed across his hard as nails member on his way down Brian’s body. The blond smiled to himself as he heard Brian gasp from the sensation of feeling Justin’s tongue licking and prodding at his naval, as he took nips of the sensitive skin surrounding it, one of Brian’s hot spots. Justin ran his hands down the outside of Brian’s thighs, and then up the inside, closer and closer to the place Brian longed for him to reach. Instead, Justin’s hands traveled around to grasp his ass, as he gently pulled the cheeks apart and ran his thumbs over and around the tight ring of muscle and then the skin between it and Brian’s ball sack. By this time, the brunet was a moaning mess of need and desire, and could barely speak, except to moan Justin’s name, in an otherwise wordless plea. Justin knew that Brian was reaching the end of his tether, and so, at the same time as he pushed his thumb into Brian’s ass, expertly finding and caressing his prostate, he sucked Brian’s cock down to the hilt, and swallowed with a hum that left Brian screaming out his orgasm and gripping tightly onto the covers, as his body trembled uncontrollably.

“Holy fuck, Sunshine,” Brian panted between deep gasps as he tried to get his breathing back under control. “That was… there are no words for what that was. No one could ever make me feel the way that you do! That has to be one of the top five blow jobs I’ve ever had!”

Justin grinned and moved back up Brian’s body to begin round two. He had every intention of riding that cock he had just tasted, and he wasn’t in the mood to wait. He wanted Brian inside him right the fuck now, and he was about to make it happen.

About an hour later, after the third round of lovemaking had left Brian momentarily passed out and sated, Justin reached over and was rummaging through the side table drawer. “I’m not sure what little novelty you’re looking for over there, Sunshine, but you’re gonna have to give me a minute or two here.” Brian grinned, sure that Justin had some delightful toy that he planned to produce, as if the blond needed anything other than his delectable self to set Brian off. Cracking one eye open, he looked up and saw Justin grab something and then swing his legs over and lift himself off the bed. As Brian watched him in confusion, while at the same time missing the feeling of their bodies touching, Justin sank down onto his knees at the side of the bed.

Brian started to roll over, teasing, “what’s the matter, Sunshine, you drop someth…” His words were cut off, and his eyebrows rose in surprise when he looked into Justin’s eyes, as the younger man held out a box and began to open it.

“I wanted to wait until you were here, in our bed, in our home, where we will be spending hopefully the rest of our days, living and loving and sharing our lives, to ask you if you would give me one last gift, Brian, and marry me. Be my husband, let me love you, not because we have locks on the doors, but because nothing on this earth would make me more proud than to be your husband, and to let the world know that I chose you, and you chose me… forever.”

Brian smiled - a great big beaming smile that rivaled any that Justin had ever shown. “Yes, Sunshine. I will marry you. I want to grow old with you.” Brian laughed. “Bet you didn’t ever think you would hear that from my lips, did you? Suddenly there aren’t enough hours in a day, or enough years left in my life, and I can’t wait to spend each and every one of them with you!”

The first day of spring could not have been planned better if they’d tried. The weather was unseasonably warm, just perfect for a wedding. Justin was finishing up the last minute decorations, and then would need to go down to the spare bedroom to begin getting dressed. He wondered how Brian was holding up. He knew that his fiancé had been hurt by Michael’s reaction to the news of their engagement, and that the boys had not spoken since. It warmed his heart, though, to know that Ted had been right there by Brian’s side and was glad that he had agreed to stand up for Brian, while Blake had agreed to take pictures.

Emmett had come in the night before to do his thing, having offered his services as wedding planner as a gift.

Daphne was Justin’s best person, of course. She was so excited when she heard the news that she dropped everything and flew in to congratulate them in person.

The only others in attendance were Justin’s mom and his sister, Molly. There had been a few tense days where they were not sure if Justin’s dad would be successful in keeping Molly from attending, but in the end the court intercessor told Craig that since Jen had custody of their daughter, and Craig had not followed through on his support or visitation on a regular basis, there was no reason to allow him to stop Jen from traveling wherever she wanted to with the teen. This was especially true when Molly told the intercessor, in no uncertain terms, that she wanted nothing more than to be able to be there to watch her brother get married.

As Brian walked out onto the rooftop garden, the first thing he saw was the vase of golden gardenias that was the only thing that Justin had insisted on. He caught Jen’s eye as she walked to the door to meet him. “May I have the honor of walking you down the aisle, son?” she asked meekly.

Brian’s eyes misted over as he held out his arm, grateful for this woman who had shown him what the love of a mother could look like. He knew that someday, when he and Justin started the family they had already begun to talk about, she would be the example he’d choose to help him be the parent he wanted to be.

As the music changed, and Justin appeared in the doorway, the tears that Brian had been trying so hard to hold back ran down his cheeks, and unashamedly, he let them fall.

Justin approached Brian, took both of his hands in his own, and together with the officiant, they began the wedding ceremony. Poignant vows, a beautiful handfasting ceremony, and a rather lengthy and untraditional kiss later, Justin and Brian were declared husbands.

It may not have been what anyone would have expected, and it may have been far different than either man had ever imagined, but even the best laid plans could not have made their wedding day any more perfect, or their lives any more complete.
