EMMETT

When Brian told me to meet Ben’s lawyer at Michael’s house, I did not expect the man who greeted me.

“Are you Emmett?” He asks me.

“Sure. I mean yes.” I tell him.

“I need to see what I’m dealing with.” He tells me, when I just stood there.

“I'm surprised Brian was willing to help Ben.” I tell him.

“Justin asked me, and I never tell him no.” He tells me.

“You're Justin’s friend?” I ask.

“At one time I would have been whatever he asked. So if you have a problem with Justin be smart enough not to say it in front of me.” He tells me.

“I don’t have a problem with Justin, but you will have a problem with Brian if you want Justin.” I warn him.

“Brian and I understand each other.” He tells me.

“Emmett, I went and got the key from Carl.” My assistant Renny tells me.

“Hello” Dan smiles at Renny.

“Hi. Um, do you need me to do anything else?” Renny asks me, but I wasn’t sure since he was staring at Dan.

“Maybe later?” Dan tells Renny, practically crowding him.

“Dan, can we do this, you know the reason we are here?” I ask, but it’s like I’m talking to myself.

“You know, I don’t see a reason Brian needs to worry about you.” I tell him, when he keeps that smile aimed at Renny.

“I don’t stand a chance, Justin never looked at me the way he does Brian. Shit, this is a mess.” He tells me, looking at the kitchen.

When he got near the blood, I pulled his hand away. “If any of this is Ben’s then we shouldn’t touch it.” I tell him.

“It’s not, and I wasn’t going to touch it. It’s just Ben is close to my height so if the fight Michael is saying happened, really happened, things should be worse than this.” He tells me, pointing out the higher cabinets.

“What do you mean?” I ask him.

“Renny can you stand here for a second.” Dan asks pointing to the counter. “If Ben picked Michael up the way Michael described, then there should be more damage higher up.” He tells me, picking Renny up and holding him up like he weighed nothing. “But the damage is only in areas Michael could reach, my report puts Michael at 5’8, is that right?” He asks, not putting Renny down.

“Yes. And you know, as much as Renny is enjoying you holding onto him, can you let him down?” I ask him.

“You want me to?” He asks Renny.

“My God, Justin traded you for your twin.” I tell Dan.

“I just want to make sure Renny doesn’t mistake my intentions.” He tells Renny.

“I won’t, but Emmett needs me to take care of something so I do need to get down.” Renny tells him, taking off when Dan let him go.

“Tell me about Michael?” He asks me.

“What about him?” I ask him.

“I just want your impression of the person he is. ” He tells me.

“He can be the nicest person you know. On the other hand, if he doesn't like something or someone, he goes out of his way to let them know, and expects everyone to agree with him.” I tell him.

“What could Ben have done to warrant this mess?” He asks me.

“At a guess, Brian seeing Justin is what caused this.” I tell him.

“Because Brian never got serious about anyone before?” He asks.

“Which is strange, because more recently it was all about Ben.” I tell him.

“Yeah, I know all about Ben.” He tells me, scowling.

“I'll never understand why Ben used Justin like that.” I tell him.

“I wasn’t exactly thrilled at what was going on either. I'm sure if Justin ever finds out I told Ben to leave him alone, I'll be on Justin’s shit list.” He tells me, not really looking concerned.

“You still have feelings for Justin?” I ask.

“I probably always will, but I also know he’s never looked at me the way he does Brian. Can you get what Ben needs, I'm ready to go.” He tells me.

“There's one other thing you need to know about Michael, in his mind, nothing is more important than Brian’s attention.” I tell him.

“Justin is going to hate the protective bastard I'm about to be.” He tells me.

“You'll have to stand in line behind Brian.” I tell him.

As we were walking out Dan looks back from his car. “Give Renny my number.” He tells me.

JUSTIN

Brian called and told me he was staying at his loft tonight. I didn’t know what to think, we’d spent every night together, and now he was staying there. Daphne came in while I was sitting around trying to decide what to do.

“Brian’s not here?” She asks me.

“He said he was staying at his place tonight.” I tell her.

“Why are you worried?” She asks.

“I called Dan to see if he could help with something and then after spending time with Dan today, Brian decides to stay at the loft instead of with me.” I tell her.

“Justin, go see him and make sure he knows Dan is your past.” She tells me.

I drove to the loft and knocked on the door. Brian opened the door and smiled when he saw me, letting me in.

“I wondered if you’d show.” He tells me.

“I wondered why you didn’t want to come to my house.” I tell him.

“I needed time to think.” He tells me, pulling out a beer.

“About what?” I ask him.

“Dan, and why you broke up with him. Justin, I can’t promise not to want to protect you. I can’t promise not to go overboard when I think something will hurt you. I need to know that you won’t end us, because I love you enough to want to hold back the world if it could hurt you in any way.” He tells me.

“It wasn’t that he tried to protect me, it’s that he would do things without telling me he was doing them. He always acted like I couldn’t take care of myself without him. I know some guys love that, but I don’t. I fought all my life to be independent, and I can't be in a relationship if I still have to fight for it.” I tell him.

“It’s just something about you, it makes me want to fight for you.” He tells me.

“All I want is for you to love me.” I tell him.

Brian pulled off my shirt and ran his hands down my chest. I started unbuttoning his jeans and reached in to feel how ready he was for me. He stood and let me run my hands over him. “You are a work of art.” I tell him.

His muscles flexed as I leaned in and kissed each place my hands touched. He pulled our bodies together and pulled my lips to meet his and used his tongue to lick his way into my mouth. We were grinding into each other and when my hand surrounded his cock he pulled back, breathing hard, letting me take the lead as I twisted my hand and fell to my knees to take him in my mouth. I swallowed as I took him in and used my tongue in the way that makes him go crazy. He pulled away and backed us onto the cushions on the floor, then worked his way down to take me in as he worked his fingers into me. I started moving with him as he moved his fingers faster and wanted to hold back but couldn’t. When I came in his mouth he drank until I was drained. Then he pulled my legs over his shoulders, pulling a condom out and putting it on. He didn’t wait, but thrust into me while I was still coming down from my orgasm. I screamed as he kept me stimulated enough that I ended up cumming again as he thrust faster, then held me as he finished.

“Stay.” I told him when he moved.

BRIAN

I  agreed to meet Dan, but I told Justin I was going. I wasn't going to make the same mistakes Dan made with Justin.

“You know, if you were still the same guy everyone knew, I'd fight you.” He tells me.

“You wouldn’t win, he wants me.” I tell him.

“I know, he isn’t making it a secret that you're the one he wants.” He tells me.

“Why did you ask me to come here?” I ask.

“Ben’s is going to look bad, just because of his size. I need to know how well Michael can play the victim. I also need to know if there is anyone who would testify to Ben’s character.” He tells me.

“The last few years Ben hasn't made a lot of friends. It's going to be hard for anyone we all know to say nice things. Which has more to do with him letting Michael get away with the shit he does than anything else. As for Michael, he can play the part to the hilt.” I tell him.

“Brian, has Justin told you the real version of what was happening, not the watered down one he gives.” He asks.

“I got that Michael was harassing him, but that it was fine as long as they never crossed paths outside of school.” I tell him.

“You need to hear what really happened.” He tells me.

“Not from you.” Justin tells him, walking up. “He needs to hear it from me.” Justin tells Dan.

“Justin?” I ask.

“Dan is going to make it sound more out of control than it was.” Justin tells me, glaring at Dan.

“You wish it wasn’t as bad as it got.” Dan tells him, glaring back.

“Shit, I should have never stayed in Pittsburgh.” Justin says, staring at the table. “I thought once I graduated I'd never see him again. Michael didn't just chase me around campus, it was as if he just knew where I'd be and showed up.” He tells me.

“You know how he knew.” Dan tells Justin.

“Not at first, it just always seemed like he was somewhere, making my life hell.” Justin tells me.

“How did he know?” I ask.

“Justin attracts stalkers.” Dan tells me.

“My soon to be stepbrother. I told you I went to college to get away from Chris, but not just because of bullying, but because he became fixated. It's how I met Dan.” Justin tells me.

“Daphne made Justin come see me.” He tells me.

“Michael only mentioned you in the last four months.” I tell him.

“Michael only started helping Chris in the last four months. Chris was around before the Ben thing. When I meet Dan, it was just Chris doing things, like being anywhere I was and breaking into my room at school. It’s why I really stayed with Alex and Grant. Alex made it so if Chris showed up he was escorted off Alex’s property. When I started seeing Dan, Chris left me alone, but when we broke up it started again, but Chris didn’t do anything to get in trouble, so the school didn’t do anything. Then when Michael started running after me, the school started to think I was the problem, not Chris or Michael.” He tells me.

“The school took it seriously when I showed up with restraining orders for Ben as well as the other two, but managed to convince Justin they would make it so Chris and Michael couldn’t bother him anymore. Only one problem; Molly.” Dan tells me.

“Chris’s mother and my father started seeing each other and Chris became the brother Molly felt I wasn’t. So at first when she was calling me, I didn’t realize it was so she could tell Chris where I was. She doesn’t understand what was going on with Chris either, so she would call and then mention to Chris where I told her I was going. One day we assume Chris ran into Michael and the two were doing things that I couldn’t prove because one watched me and the other did whatever fucked up shit the two thought up. They tossed my room, slashed my artwork, and told people all sorts of things. I just thought at least I was done with Michael, and my father is dealing with Chris.” Justin tells me.

“Justin, Craig is just keeping Chris from bothering you, not dealing with what Chris was doing.” Dan tells him. “Craig doesn’t believe what Chris was doing was anything but showing his disapproval of Justin’s sexuality.” He tells me.

“Is Chris going to be a problem?” I ask Justin, who smiles at me.

“I think he knows that he and his mom will be out on their asses if he bothers me.” Justin tells me.

“If Chris’s father wasn’t just as big of a homophobic prick as Craig, I would have thanked him for divorcing Chris’s mother. Unlike Justin, Chris can be controlled by Craig.” Dan tell me.

“Without Chris to help, Michael became just an annoyance, nothing I couldn’t deal with.” Justin tells Dan.

“But Justin, you now have what Michael covets.” Dan tells him.

“He’s not smart enough to take me on.” Justin tells him.

“He smart enough to frame Ben for abuse.” I tell Justin.

“You and Dan are smarter and since I’m a genius, they can’t win.” Justin tells me.

“Ben was worried about Carl not believing him. What are your thoughts on Carl? He’s always seemed willing to listen and not jump to conclusions.” Dan tells me.

“It’s Deb that’s the problem, right now she can’t see past Michael being hurt.” I tell him.

“Mom needs to know what her son is like.” Dan tells me.

“She knows, the question is whether she’ll protect him. Lately she’s been less likely to believe everything that Michael tells her. I think once she calms down, she’ll question it.” I tell Dan.

“I have a scheduled walkthrough with Carl. We are reconstructing the report, the DA doesn’t want to look like an idiot.” Dan tells me.

“Why are they worried?” Justin asks him.

“Michael made it sound like a huge knock down, drag out, yet Ben doesn’t have a scratch on him. Most of the damage was done as if Ben was Michael’s size. I have Ben writing a statement with what he says happened. Michael is going to have to show us how his version is the truth.” Dan tells us.

“You don’t think he will?” I ask.

“He’s most likely going to be pissed to see me there.” Dan tells us.

“You warned him off, didn’t you?” Justin asks.

“Justin, you know me well enough to know that I did.” Dan tells him.

“This is what I was telling you about.” Justin tells me.

“I don’t like the little asshole, never did.” Dan tells Justin.

“You knew Michael before, didn’t you?” I ask Dan.

“Not really, just as Brian Kinney’s lap dog. He was insignificant when he tried to warn me off you.” Dan tells me.

“We’ve never, I would remember.” I tell him.

“Sorry, you don’t interest me, but at one time, Ted did. It’s my lot in life to love the ones that love others.” He tells me, laughing.
