Poor Justin! He has quite the audience tonight. I was hoping Hobbs wouldn’t be quite the ass that he was in the series. But it’s not looking that way. Sydney is proving to be quite the ally. I so don’t want Justin to suffer that bashing. Love that Michael was protective in the confrontation. I’m also happy that Justin is playing somewhat hard to get with Brian and turning the tables a bit on him by acting casual. When is Brian or someone going to notice poor Justin’s threadbare jacket and his decaying sneakers and gift him with something new? Hehe!

You wouldn't want a story without any angst, right? Hobbs provides it in spades. We can't predict what he'll do next, now that his status as a macho jock has been threatened.
Michael does show his good side occasionally. :) Maybe he's starting to be a protective older brother toward Justin? Okay, that may be stretching things a bit too far. :P
If - when? - Brian succeeds in seducing the blond, matters may not proceed exactly as he expects. After all, Justin has grown to enjoy his independence.
"The kid has no appreciation for fashion," Brian gripes, "and I'm not about to waste my money on off-brand crap. A computer on the other hand..."

All I can say is "Poor Justin!" Glad he is almost out of the woods with his "injury." I sure hope Hobbs pays for what he did. I loved Ted and Brian caring for Justin and the humor mixed in there. Very clever of you to bring "the nurse" Brian was with when Ted awoke from his coma. Horvath is the best substitute dad ever. Justin is truly lucky to have so many people that love and care so much about him. I have to say the funniest thing for me is Brian having to deal with puke, tears, and bodily fluids in general on his clothes, duvet and boots! He is gradually realizing the depth of his feelings for Justin. It is obvious that both Horvath and Ted already know and are enjoying teasing him about his "partner." I'm so happy you will be getting the next part out soon. I so enjoy this story!

We're still sighing in relief at having gotten Justin off that cliff, without any need for surgery. Is there anyone who doesn't want Hobbs to pay (aside from his cronies and the other homophobic prics at St. James)? He's deep in denial about who he is and is taking out his fears on Justin - with the encouragement of the St. James administrators. He probably gets his attitude from his parents as well. Grr.
Nurse Robert jumped into the opening scene of the chapter when we were writing it. :D We're glad you enjoyed the banter!
You're absolutely right. Justin has the best 'family' ever, and Horvath makes a wonderful, caring dad. He might've been really uncomfortable around homosexuals at the beginning of the story, but he's changed his tune. We'll credit Justin and maybe Debbie :P for that.
Justin is hard on Brian's designer clothes and furnishings. :D Does the stud get a "Poor Brian"? He's making major progress with this whole relationship shtick, so he wants a little sympathy. :D

He is adorable. Loved the Justin/Molly reunion. Jennifer is a pill. She needs to get the stick out of her behind.

You're right; Brian is smitten (as he should be :) There's a bit of a discussion over on AO3 as to whether Brian will want to keep tricking. Feel free to add your two cents.
The shopping trips were loads of fun to write. Different and yet the gifts were selected with equal care.
There was not nearly enough of Molly in canon; she was practically a nonentity. (You wouldn't believe how many times I counted the candles on her birthday cake to make sure I had the right age... and then I had to go back and correct it after posting this chapter because I switched her to seven instead of eight. Sheesh.)
It's hard to say what will happy with Jennifer, if she'll remove that stick or not. Sadly, unlike in canon, she's very attached to her comfortable country club lifestyle.
We should have a teaser for the next chapter up within a couple of weeks :)

I'm thrilled that you found the way I tweaked canon to be plausible. I wanted to change what happened just enough that there'd be room for growth from both Brian and Justin and, especially, so that they'd communicate and work out their relationship - separately from the bombing. I can understand why CowLip wanted to include a horrific event like the bombing in the final season, what with hateful, bigoted acts like that still happening. I would have preferred, however, that Brian and Justin sort out their relationship in an effective, lasting manner. (I also didn't want the girls to run off to Canada in such an ill-thought-out manner. Their support system was in Pittsburgh, and for all that Canada provided better legal rights for queers, there are homophobes there too.)
