That was an amazing chapter, Kathleen. I understand both POVs on this. It all boils down to Justin doing what he believes Brian needs done, whether Brian agrees with it or not. On the flipside of that, I understand Brian's concern that Justin is underestimating the delusions and vindictiveness of Michael and Lindsay. In truth, Brian has EVERY reason to be concerned since he knows the tantrums that Michael and Lindsay tend to throw when thwarted.

That said, I'm glad that Brian could appreciate exactly what Justin's actions in the courtroom meant for their situation. I only wish that he was somewhere hidden within the confines of the cafeteria to hear exactly what Justin said to Michael, so he could have seen firsthand his former best friend's reaction to it. The truth is that NOT ONE PERSON thinks that Michael will adhere to the stipulations put forth. Oh, he may abide by them for a month at the most, but then he'll show that he's the same petulant pissant he's always been. So to that end, I agree with Justin in taking the weight of Michael's downfall off of his own shoulders, and putting the responsibility for success/failure squarely back onto Michael's.

It's a brilliant strategy, especially when dealing with Michael Novotny, who has always had someone to cloak and cover for his idiocy instead of making him own up to them. One question though, is the restraining order mentioned in Chapter 9 going to be officially in place? I know that the judge said that Michael was still to report to the prison for his weekend stay, but I have to wonder if it will be implemented, even though Michael technically violated it though he wasn't yet served when he did. Now that he'll be on conditional release, I hope that becomes an added stipulation if for no other reason than Michael won't be able to fight the compulsion to force his way into Brian's life again.

I know, I'm completely EVIL when it comes to Michael... and I just love that I am. LOL

HUGS,

~Nichelle

Author's Response: I always love your comments! Although I sometime don't get time to respond to all of them. Like "Christmas Presents" hangs head in shame... That is what's great about this chapter, it's easy to see things from both their perspectives, they're both right. Never, ever underestimate what evil lurks in the back of their brains, once you make it through the cobwebs... Yes, Brian should have been eavesdropping on Justin, when he set Michael straight on just how strong his marriage to Brian is. But, Brian will find out as their love grows stronger, and Justin is always there to support him. Michael might not like it, even though the judge my be giving him a second (or third) chance. But, Brian sure as hell isn't. So he better keep his distance, because Brian in full on protective mode at this point. There's nothing wrong about being completely evil, says Evil Kathleen... I've earned my reputation, and I love it! Later Sweetheart ~ Kathleen

What a wonderful chapter from beginning to end. There were so many amazing thing that happened, but nothing more tear-inducing than the final interaction with Mel and Brian.

Gosh! Even now, I'm sitting here with residual tears. That entire scenario just gripped my heart and wouldn't let it go, especially since my oldest son is in a situation similar, yet not as severe. He was moved again both mine and my mother (who are both his legal guardians) wishes, and are trying to do it again. My mom and I are fighting them tooth and nail to make sure that doesn't happen again, even to the point of possibly bringing Joshua home for good. But the bureaucratic red tape of New York State is both suffocating and an outright pain in the ass to deal with.

So that said, I can wholeheartedly understand (and felt) Mel's rising panic at not being in control of her own fate, and having very WRONG decisions made supposedly with the best of intentions. I wanted nothing more than for her to smack the fire out of her mother, and then get into her wheelchair to run over both of her parents' domineering asses. SMH, I know I probably seem like the most mean and violent person on the planet with that last statement, but I have a big problem with a patient's rights being violated/ disregarded. Thank goodness the hospital staff had the forethought to call Ted straightaway. Otherwise, Mel would have been halfway to Florida before he found out anything.

And for the record, Mel's mother certainly could be kinfolk with the bitches-on-wheels by the names of Joan Kinney and Nancy Peterson. I could just about imagine them around a damn cauldron, chanting 'Double Double, Toil and Trouble'. DAMN WITCHES!

Anyway, this was a thoroughly enjoyable, and heartfelt chapter. Justin leanring a bit about how assumptions are just not a good thing to have in reference to people, and Gus... I laughed hard at the memories of my own boys that he engendered.

Looking forward to more coming soon!

Happy Writing and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Author's Response: I'm so sorry about to hear about all the troubles you're having trying to make sure Joshua is getting the best care possible. My heart goes out to you and your mom. Fucking red tape! Yes, Mel was in a total state of panic hearing her parents plan for her future. Thankfully she had assigned Ted as her POA instead of Lindsay. I guess the writing was already on the wall concerning Lindsay's mental state of mind. 'Double Double, Toil and Trouble' How appropriate for Halloween! I love how both Brian and Justin are learning to be partners and parents. Later Sweetheart ~ Kathleen

I swear, Lorie.... In just 852 words you've managed to reduce me to tears, make me smile again, and ultimately give me hope. The EMT occupation really did fit Todd. I mean, after all, he has such a giving 'spirit'. I'm so glad Brian had him in that moment; he really needed Todd's calm and capable presence.

SO SO GOOD! I'm proud of the man David has become, even if I'm saddened by the circumstances. It took real courage and character to admit that he was wrong about what he thought of the Brian and Mikey show, and then to seek Brian out to warn him.

As for the rest of them, I really love that they are willing to help David reestablish his life, and that of Hank. It especially shows character growth on Brian's part, who always had an antagonistic relationship with David.

Evil Mickey Mouse and Broom Hilda's days are numbered, and that makes me HAPPY!

Excellent Writing, and I can't wait for the next installment!

Michael, as always, is self-centered and SELFISH! He just couldn't stand someone else's happiness not including him. The fact that Carl, Em, and Brian had to take time away from enjoying themselves to tend to a grown-ass crybaby, seriously overcooks my grits! Hopefully, he will actually listen to what was said, but ai doubt it.

Michael is too used to being the C.O.A. and receiving pats on the head, or an ear to whine in when things don't go his way. At 30+ years old, I doubt it's a habit he's willing to break because it would mean ditching those Captain Astro underoos and putting on his grown man drawers to make a solid decision and stick to it, instead of blaming others for his shortcomings. But, <deep sigh here>, I'm destined to be a fool living in hope that he will go design his life, while leaving the others to live theirs. Ah, we will see.

Damn shame that Hunter had to give Michael a clue about him being a DOOFUS! Just goes to show that to some people common sense ain't common at all...SMH Hopefully the therapist can help him, or I have a feeling that the therapist will need their own shrink by the time he/she finishes talk to Michael.

I LOVE that all the boys got together and told Brian that Jenny wanted to go to Sea World. Those little guys are such gems and add a wealth of meaning to every life they touch. I love the fact that they see Jenny as their sister, and not just 'Mel's daughter'.

The talk with Ben and Jenny almost broke my heart. They are both hurting in such different ways but from the same source. I'm glad that they've established that no matter what happens with Michael, they still have each other.

The banter between all of the adults is so special. Mel and Brian have indeed come a long way, as have Justin and Lindsay. It's good that she's finally settled in herself that she can allow Justin to shine, and he and Brian to liive their lives without feeling as though she has to keep up with the Taylor-Kinneys. I think it has taken a very heavy load off of Mel's shoulders, allowing her to relax at long last.

I really do LOVE this story, StarBaby! It's such a feel good fic, and I look forward to delving into each chapter.

StarBaby! I swear from word one you always have me HOOKED! And whereas I always want to punch Whiny Wonder in his throat to permanenly shut his voice up, this time I want to leave him in a foreign country without his wallet or a means to communicate with anyone he knows! What a MOOCHER and PARASITE, and yet the story hasn't even begun!

Strangely, I'm wondering if Ted leaked the information to the press in sort of a reverse-protective move. The power of building their relationship was in their privacy, but I suspect with Wonder Brat's continual interference to get Brian to be what he wants, exposure will be the only way to preserve what Brian and Justin have found with each other. I can't wait to see all of this unfold!

Is it wrong of me to wish that Deb hit that little ingrate harder? OMG! The absolute NERVE of him! Strangely, I also hope that sneaky, sniveling reporter also gets slammed for listening to the jealous, ill-informed ravings of a 'towel boy'. Michael thinking that he'll just give Debbie time to cool off before coming to her with his 'I didn't mean it' mantra is going to be so pathetic, especially once Brian and Emmett gets wind of what Michael spewed to that reporter.

Em and Drew are going to be such gems to Brian and Justin throughout all of this! Not only will Brian and Justin have to deal with the voracious reporters, but with a childish hanger-on, who will now basically be homeless and jobless. I hope Ted fires Michael immediately and without a second thought! Brian and Emmett should have left Whiny Wonder and his banging drum ass behind ages ago. I think that as Em said, it's a good thing all of this is coming out now while Brian is on break, if for no other reason than to reduce their entourage by one 145 pound lazy, loud-mouthed schmuck!

YAY!!!! BURN MICHAEL BURN!!!!!!! What an asshole! LOVED the set-your-dumbass-down that Lindsay gave him over the phone. Now there's nowhere for him to run or hide when Ted, and possibly Mel, show up. Also I'm very proud of Debbie for not going to Whiny Wonder's rescue. That's exactly what his attention-seeking ass gets!

Blake and Ted's interaction was absolutely adorable! I just love the whole 'shy' vibe they each gave off, and cheered aloud when Blake made the first move. They are also going to be an awesome couple. Now we have to find someone for Benny-boy, who I did have to most certainly have an 'EWWWWWW! WTF!' moment simply for doing the dirty with Winky-Dinky. But he redeemed himself by offering for Emmett to use him as a cover should things with Drew's forced outing become sticky. Now that's true friendship, even when the attempt at a relationship went south.

Soooooooo looking forward to MORE! Fangirling right now, indeed!!!!

I LOVE TED!!! Brian and Emmett couldn't have a more perfect manager and friend. So glad that Whiny Wonder is going to be out of all their orbits. And if he complains about his treatment aloud- which we know he probably will- everyone will have legal recourse since his employment is being fairly terminated due to violation of the contract he signed. What a desperate, and ignorant little man!

Hmmm...the mystery is killing me about who leaked the information about Brian and Justin's marriage. Could it be that someone saw them in Vermont? Or could it be someone within Brian and Em's camp that wanted Whiny Wonder, who was continually chasing after Brian? What better way than to disabuse the idiot of the fantasy that he would EVER have Brian but to expose the world's best kept secret marriage?

I'm on tenterhooks waiting for all the pieces of the puzzle to fall into place and can't wait for MORE!

YES!!!! Mel and Ted were AWESOME! Whiny Wonder is now jobless and friendless. Wonder how long it will take before he's homeless and motherless? That big mouth he's got just keeps writing checks his nonexistent ass can't cash...smh

As for Lindsay, hopefully Mel is right and she won't turn into the more subdued version of Whiny Wonder. She really needs to remember that she gave birth to Gus, NOT Brian, and acknowledge who needs mothering. Hopefully Ted telling Mel about Lindsay's penchant for listening in on attorney-client conversations will curb any future Baby Mama Drama.

I'm trying to trust Lindsay, but well...the jury is still out on that one. At least her story corroborated Mel's somewhat so it could be that she's actually telling the whole truth. The fact that Brian is also suspicious of her would make her want to keep her proverbial nose clean, since it would be easy to lump her in with Whiny Wonder and his brand of friendship. I think it's a good move to not only have everyone guarded, but also to keep watch on who they interact with that's not in the usual camp. An employee of Brian and Emmett's makes sense, but it also doesn't because what could have caused them to betray the NDA, except that there was an advance that went unaddressed, or worst yet, unnoticed? Unless, of course, it's an infatuation with Whiny Wonder, and the fact that Brian chose Justin over his heart's desire...

On the flipside of that theory, somehow I think whomever was asking Gus questions might be more interested in Justin. Which brings up the questions of if Justin had a serious past relationship that went south when he began seeing Brian more regularly? Or some crazed fan perhaps that has noticed the secret meetings of the Kinneys over time? Then again, maybe it is a former conquest of Brian's who Idiot Man may have acquired in pre-Justin days, or maybe even the owner of Babylon itself?

So MANY directions this storyline can take with an array of suspects, and I'm looking forward to every twist and turn!

Very informative chapter! I absolutely LOVED the backstory given about Lindsay and her penchant to just need to have one-up on her sister. I also loved the fact that Mel and Brian weren't blind to her supposed tears of regret, which I'm sure she tried to use to gain sympathy for her blatant attempt at glory-hogging. The truth is that she is basically Whiny Wonder's estrogen-laden alter egoI would say that Lindsay needs a psychotherapist and a priest to exorcise her Michaelness, but the truth is she would probably even drive them crazy with her need to justify her wrongdoings. They would probably have to take a Xanax just seeing her name on their schedule for the day.

I absolutely adore Brian's reasoning for distancing himself from Whiny Wonder, and Emmett's reponse to it. They have such an honest, and pure friendship that it's hard not to be moved by it. I agree with Drew's course of action. He's applying football strategy and logic to combat Whiny Wonder's intended maliciousness. The best offense is to have a strong defense, after all. And bringing their relationship out into the open will chap Whiny Wonder's nonexistent ass so much that not even Vaseline will help calm the sting! Hey Michael, can you and Lindsay spell OBSCURITY?! Poor, poor attention-seeking moronic idiots! Not even having 5 seconds of fame to be considered relevant has gotta hurt!

I think I'm going to like Corey. He's looking at this from every possible angle, even the one where this stalker isn't going about his plans to cause problems in a textbook fashion. I absolutely agreed with him when he said that the stalker being the possible leak would have him thinking it would cause all sorts of issues for Brian and Justin, resulting in them breaking up to keep their privacy. I also believe that Corey's correct in saying that coming out with their story is going to cause the person to unravel. Brian and Justin are endgame material, so yes, it's likely that the stalker will throw a major tantrum when thwarted. Futhermore, it seems this person has a warped sense of their own cleverness, which if truth be told he is just a lowlife to go after information from an unsuspecting five year old. However, I don't think the stalker was counting on just how observant Gus was in hearing the last comment he uttered about how his angel made a mistake. I think involving the detective at this juncture, while seeming a bit premature, is actually the right thing to do. Who knows what else Gus might remember from the encounter...and when.

WOW! StarBaby, you've given me a lot to analyze with this one. Great Job!

Absolutely LOVED the way all the gentlemen handled Brandon! Granted, the man was doing his job, but there are always questions someone, especially s reporter should ask: Why was I given this information; Who does this information benefit; What did the person have to gain by telling me? As a result of being so driven to get the scoop, he opened himself up to be treated as a nuisance, instead of an ally.

As for Gardner and Kip, I think they can kiss Dark Angel and Xtreme Misfits goodbye. In his attempt to powertrip, Gardner still hasn't realized just what and whom he's dealing with when it comes to all of them- manager, agent and musician alike. Hmmm...will they be starting their own company perhaps? That would surely give Gardner a case of the Bubble Guts!

I absolutely loved the way Emmett basically dissed Whiny Wonder and the 'stalker' at the same time. It was masterfully done and a passive-aggressive move worthy of a Southern Belle, LOL

So now, how will they address Bellweather prematurely printing the ill-informed ravings of Whiny Wonder? Should be interesting as all of the pieces keep falling into place.

HA! StarBaby, I LOVE the way you think!! You took the most abstract, and probably unremarkable character of the "Ethan Era" and made him relevant in the most vicious way. Great job!! I can't wait to read how all of this plays out. Now we not only have a name, but a lunatic with unlimited funds, even if his parents are supposedly controlling his trust fund. Somehow, all I can think of is that he is like Michael and Lindsay, where he only shows the side of himself that he wants people to believe, yet he's rotten underneath all that sweetness. Should be interesting to see exactly what Collier's family believes when they find out he's stalking Justin.

Lindsay is definitely going to be pissed when she finds out that all her instant access to Brian is going to be blocked from here on out. Can anyone say Mikey, Jr.? And if Collier should find out who she is.... No doubt there is major trouble on the rise since all the idiotic, but apparently, smart bastard has to do is research what ties there are to Brian because the stupid, jealous, unreasonably-smug woman opened her mouth to prove that she was better than Lynette.

I can't help but wonder how Collier is escaping all detection. I mean, it's possible that his family now has control of his trust fund, but that woudn't stop them from 'helping' him, since they didn't believe that he was off his rocker before, would it? If his family is as well-off as on par with Justin's, that would mean they would possibly have more than one car lying around. And with a steady stream of cash, like an allowance from his trust, there's really no telling where he could be, or who he might be following around. Or even what he would do to draw Justin out of hiding!! Yep, my anxiety is up on this storyline!

LOVED the relationship between Ben and Blake. It kind of reminds me of the same vibe that Brian and Emmett have. Ben definitely needs someone steady in his life, if for no other reason than to prevent the Michael-induced haze he must have been in when he screwed the towel boy...Still having 'YUCK' and 'BLECH' moments on that one. UGH! Hopefully, the instant-attraction to Sean will pan out well for the both of them.

As for the business of Xtreme Misfits staying with Vanguard, based on Gardner's idiocy and Kip's antics, I certainly don't see them staying with that company. Which is a very good thing, because it's evident that Vance doesn't have the best interests of his artists at heart, but that of his sister. Well let her make up for the money Vance is about to lose from his two big moneymakers going off on their own. I wonder if the guys still own the copyrights to the songs they've written... Hmm, if they do, Vance is definitely about to lose big, because each band will lose NOTHING by not signing with Vanguard again. Owning those copyrights will ensure that the songwriters will still make money from the royalties each time their music is played. Vance has definitely lost big time!

Like Mel, I'm worried about 'The Stupids'. Michael and Collier deserve each other, and neither of them deserves the attention they so obviously crave. If Brandon gets the go-ahead, he should be blackballed within the industry for giving lunatics a platform. Mel should probably accidentally-on-purpose show him the report she has on Collier, or at the very least find a way to stop him. Might a potential lawsuit/ gag order be an option? Either way, Michael certainly shouldn't be discounted because only goodness knows what idiotic stories- be they true or delusional- would have left his mouth to Collier in a bid to seem relevant...SMH What a mess!

Great Chapter!! The pissants AND Brandon need to be brought up on charges immediately!! That is a classic case of stalking and Brandon should be charged as an accessory.

Alex was spot on to call Collier's mother to get them to cut off the money. Although I'm not sure how much it will help since he's sharing space with an equally delusional mess of a man. Michael is gullible and greedy by turns so it will be interesting how that plays out. I can't see Michael willingly sharing the apartment rent-free and footing all of the other bills as well. But since they share a common goal, it's not so far-fetched to think that Michael will fall wallet first into financially supporting Collier, especially if it means the latter is promising to remove Justin out of Brian's orbit.

Can't wait for the next chapter!

Finally Lindsay is developing a backbone that should have been there long since! She and Mel played the infidelity off in a way that Lynette didn't have a way back from. So of course she tried the rich bitch tricks, only to be shut down again with the fact that she doesn't have anything lasting, including the mansion she's banking on nor the security that she won't soon be replaced by a younger, newer model. It must really suck to be her since Lindsay is finally going to have the last laugh, and  this time it will be at the Petersons expense. Guess her 'Wedding of the Year' will only have about twelve people attending it at the most, including the caterers...LOL

And gold Star for Lindsay doing the right thing for once! Unfortunately, whereas I think Michael will go ahead with his surefire plan, like Corey said, Collier flies under the radar most of the time. The only way I can see him getting caught on the grounds is if he thinks that Michael's arrest will make them somewhat relax security. The other alternative my brain went to just then is just unpalatable. Either way, I hope the idiot is caught with Michael or soon after!

Can't wait for the next chapter, StarBaby!

Hey MY StarBaby,

Although there is so very MUCH to say about this chapter (such as the fact that my heart raced the entire time as I devoured each and every word), I won't go into all the details. It will take entirely too long, and might even have you running for cover since I'm so mad at the Idiot Brigade, LOL

But I wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much I appreciated your effort to provide us with a chapter. I personally KNOW how difficult that is to do when RL is so hectic you can barely even breathe, let alone find time to sleep and other necessary things that have absolutely NOTHING to do with writing FREE entertainment.

So that said, don't worry about the other stories; just update when you can should you even feel like it. People tend to forget that we actually live the busiest lives imaginable (and you KNOW my story, just as I know yours). But in the meantime, you are in ALL my thoughts and prayers. Keep your head up my Darling! Life has a way of growing us, and showing us who and what we were put on this earth to be, especially in the moments when our precious sanity and sprituality is tested the most. But from me to you, YOU ARE AMAZING. Never forget that!

LOVE YOU StarBaby,

~Chelle

WHOO-HOO!!! What a heart-stopping chapter, StarBaby! As always it was so worth the wait. OMG! I wanted to punch the hell out of Ethan. I mean of all the times to pull a Mikey just having to know why he couldn't possibly measure up to cow dung, let alone Brian Kinney... what a total MORON! He may or may not do jail time for his part in all of this, but yeah, I think he's already beginning to pay plenty with his foray into total obscurity. Couldn't happen to a more deserving asshole! Somehow, I'm hoping that Zane will move on with Corey, and that Ethan will be front and center to see it!

As for Michael,: What can I possibly say except OH YEAH! That wonderful, and all-too-true adage that when digging one ditch, you should dig two is definitely making his appearance here. While he was joining Collier in all his plans, Collier was making sure that Michael wouldn't get out of any of his own idiocy unscathed.

BTW... Can I borrow Corey's gun? I think he should have fired another shot... right dead in the crack of Collier's ass! I'm so happy and relieved that little punk will get everything that's coming to him. BUT I also really, REEEEEAAAALLLLLY want his parents to pay for their inaction, too. They knew that the little bastard needed to be locked away in a medical facility for his own good, as well as everyone else's peace of mind. Yet they did absolutely nothing but deny that their son was both a psychopath and a sociopath in order for them to keep their illusion of status. I hope it all blows up in the faces, and they are dismissed as the social pariahs they are!

Great job, StarBaby and I'm looking forward to MORE!

HUGS,

~Nichelle
