While I'm new to the QAF universe, I'm really enjoying all the different story lines I have found here and on other sites.
I watched the show when it first aired and then forgot all about it until Showtime replayed it last month. I have since gotten my own DVD set (have to have the original music:)
I spent many years running a site devoted to fanficton in the Star Wars universe. I loved working with the authors and loved site design, but real life threw a few hurdles and I had to walk away. Now that I have some time and a new passion, I can wait to surround myself with all these unread stories
Post S5 in an AU where there is no JR (just purely because it simplified the plot). Something has happened in Toronto and Brian gets a phone call that sends him into action.

I think it's hard for anyone who cares for Brian and who sees him as the imperfect, damaged, but essentially good person he is, and like either Mikey or the lesbians who treat him so badly while claiming to love him. They're not just enablers, that would be bad; they're abusive. They take advantage of his love and loyalty to manipulate him, to leech off him financially and all the time they are belittling him, including in front of his son. Ugh!

This is such a wonderful story that leaves you wanting more. I loved every minute of watching Brian's masks slip away as he accepted his love and appreciation for Justin. It was also great seeing Brian discover he had members of his own family looking out for him. His Aunt and Uncle just accepted him no questions asked, and they respected Brian and Justin as a couple. Really enjoyed this story. You picked up a throw away line and created a beautiful piece.
Having what was a horrible memory for Brian, Turn out to be a life changing event for Buck was perfect. So often we find out later that something that broke our heart was the best thing that could have happened.
You also kept Michael's crush for Brian true to character. He will always want Brian (and would dump Ben in a second if he though he could have Brian)
This is one of the few stories with a time line where Justin is still in NY and they are making it work. Without that being the focus. Just a glimpse into HOW they make it work.
A very healing event in Brian's life. Thanks for sharing
