I can relate too, and utter helplessness is even more compounded when you actually have to go so far as to ask for help. Truly embarrassing. Jen gets that and steps in so he won't have to, probably one of the reasons Brian chose her in the first place.

Little things we take for granted because we can do them for ouselves makes us feel selfish asking someone to do them for us. Like lotion, something to eat, brushing our hair or wiping our ass. I am the caregiver in my home and having to ask someone to do those things felt humiliating. Like I was taking advantage of them. It was much better when I didn't have to ask.

I felt Emmett was also underutilized in the series and i hop to correct that here. I love Emmett's personality and his southern sayings. I spent quite a bit of time growing up  in the South and  living there has its own brand of life, a pace of its own, and a thinking unlike anywhere else i have ever lived. I miss it, and Emmett lets me play in his treehouse sometimes. LOL

That song was one  of the inspirations for Jane. I cant listen to the lyrics anymore, too painful, especially since the music is so beautiful. A contradiction to say the least, just like Jane.

Oh, I wish I could have them in a foursome. Talk about tasty! I just don't think many readers would enjoy it or believe it. They had a hard enough time with Brian/Jane. Could you imagine?!

Your WTF, is understandable and fairly common...LOL. Brian will have his moment too, in the beginning of the next chapter.

Jane's episode was traumatic, mentally and physically. In some not rare, but certainly less common, insidences like this, a brain protecting the body will shut everything down so to speak. The Brain and the human psyche will work together to protect the delicate sanity. In this case, sleep. And lots of it.

You are correct. Brian is and always has been a tactile person. Having no one with which he found himself that comfortable with leaves Jane. Someone he feels is a kindred soul, respects and trusts. I would not call Jane a sex therapist, though I am sure she has training somewhere in her background to do what she does.

Yes, yes they did, but it was not about sex really. Jane has her own hangups and unfortunately the nightgown is part of the problem though Brian had no way of knowing that when he dressed her. His offer of relief, had just as much to do with correcting an issue he felt responsible for as it was about giving her something positive in the aftermath of her episode. Giving her back control.

Brian, as we know, is a highly sexed creature. Having been without for a while, and presented with the opportunity to do what he does best while also showing Jane how much he cares about her by being willing to do it for her in the first place seemed apropos. There are many many levels on the Kinsey scale of sexuality and I never believed that sex had very much to do with love. Brian finds pleasure in most things of the flesh so this did not seem such a stretch for me. I think Brian feeds on the pleasure of others to feel good about himself, as far as sex goes.

I also think that just because he is gay, does not mean he cannot find women attractive or that he is impotent with them. I just think he likes men a lot more.

Brian is capable of deep love and tolerance in many forms. Just look at the family he has surrounded himself with, most notably Michael and Lindsay. He loves them both and frequently kissed both of them passionately even after they belonged to someone else. It is just Brian's way.

So yeah, it happened. Do I think it will happen again? Not sure, but I dont think so. It is not in my plan at this time. Jane immediately recognized it for what it was and plans to leave it at that, though she will still allow him his physical comforting or grounding, and her presence wherever he wants her.

Believe me when I tell you, I was reluctant to post that chapter and considered a rewritten version. But I could not do it. My characters are bigger than their sexuality and I adhere to no one's boundaries but my own. I saw a stifled and introverted man in Brian on the show. This is my way of setting him free to be what he really was. Simply a man. No lables, no fetters, and no preconcieved notions of sexuality.

That being said, YES! I do love Emmett and i think he is and probably was the best of friends to Brian.

Hang in there. justin shows up soon. You will get drama, tears, and a very hot reunion.

I'm glad you love all of it (except for Seth, who deserves no love lol). I'm glad you are loving the Hunter/Molly pairing. I've really enjoyed fleshing them and their relationship out. Justin really is overwhelmed, happy overall, but extremely overwhelmed and nervous. The news about Molly didn't help, but he really did need to know. Molly can't keep hiding it from people just because she doesn't want to burden them. Tucker was super fun to flesh out as well. It's something I've never done in a fic before and I figured this would be a good opportunity. I would love to write a flashback or something. I plan on incorporating Tucker into LAX<==>PIT more due to his close relationship with Molly. And he should play a decent sized role in Intersect's sequel as well. Thanks for reading! <3
