Brian leaving before he did something to ruin the tentative trust building between him and Justin was smart, they both need to deal with everything before they can be ready for physical, what the body craves the heart and mind aren't ready for just yet.
Brian using words and feelings that would normally make him cringe to show Justin that he is valued not for the endorphin rush but because what he and Brian shared outside of the bedroom meant more, Justin needs to see he has value because he is more precious than gold.
And Brian needs to see that he was always worthy of Justin because he loved the flaws aswell as the perfection, they didn't detract from how big Brian's heart is and that despite his words his actions shouted loudly.
Brian is going to take Justin on a date? Yes!!!!
Perhaps Brian and Justin can have New First That Just Involve Them, do all the things Brian thought was too hetero or couple like.
Brian is ready to embrace Change and Justin is ready to embrace Happiness.
Sounds like A Wonderful New Beginning For Both of Them :)

Amazing chapter! The way you write is so detailed that we can see what is happening and feel it as well. Brian is showing so much restraint and he is able to get his message through Justin's walls. So much sensuality is exuding from Brian's words. Wonderful job!

When I saw the latest update, I figured that being it had been a while, I was going to just read the first couple chapters to get a feel for the story, but dammit, you have a way with words and the concept of the story just drew me in again. After chapter seven, I mentally berated myself with, "Why am I still reading this?" Why? Because it is so damn good. But after I read chapter fifteen, I told my daughter to get over here and shut my laptop down, which would force me to quit. So, I took a break, and later thought I'd read thirty-one before I read the new update. Strangely, the words weren't registering, so I went back to thirty and read that, then realized I somehow missed the last update. So I had virtually two new chapters to read. I am so happy you were able to finally update. All I can say after reading that much of the story in one sitting, is this must be a very taxing story to write. The subject matter alone must be hard, but the depth of the character's mental state, well, all I can say is I'm very proud of your writing. All that said, I want to sum up this chapter in one word. What this chapter gave me is: HOPE.
Thank you for honoring us with this story. Did you happen to notice the start date and the update date? November 15th. Both of them. Looking forward to your next chapter.

Thanks, Cathy; yeah, it is a hard story to write - I've always said, write what you know. And having lived this before, it makes me hyper-vigilant on my own kids, especially my son, who is open about the fact that he is anti-social, and doesn't know where he sits sexually. Ty lives inside his own head, so we have a very open door policy in our house, and nothing is taboo - not faith, not mental illness, and not sexuality. So when it comes to this story, there are days where I sit there with the document open, and just stare at the screen, before I close it down and simply walk away. I'm glad this chapter gave you hope - I've had a couple of people ask me when Brian is going to "fix" Justin - as Alex said, he can't. It has to be Justin who opens his eyes, and now that he has, he can fix himself. Thanks for sticking with me hon - I appreciate it. xx

I had been putting off reading this because it was a WIP but somehow it just called to me today and i am so glad I started. Just finished Chapter 5 and the first 5 have left me with a lump in my throat as I try not to cry. Such a powerful story - you can feel the heartbreak. Amazing!

Justin is finally fighting back and is ready to stop fighting against Alex helping him overcome his demons, just saw the dawn and e isn't afraid to start a Brand New Day and a Brand New Chapter of his life.
I think Brian wasn't there cause h didn't want to give Justin a shock after their emotional talk, when they see each other later it should be interesting how they react.
Brian and Justin had their confrontation perhaps Justin will be ready to confront the others.
Yeah Justin and Brian ruined their relationship but others jealousy and slide comments didn't help either, the behavior and words of The Family contributed to the doubts, fears and avoidance Justin and Brian did.

When they lock everyone else out and just talk to each they see that their love is dead it just dimmed for awhile, now that they are both really talking and making some gentle promises the glow is slowly starting to come back.
Justin isn't ready for fast and neither is Brian but slowly getting to know one another and seeing their true selves is a good start.
Once they take away the expectations of The Family and just focus first on themselves then each other then those petty opinions don't matter.
Brian get Justin to laugh and smile! Now That Is Beautiful!!!
Michael is butting in again he needs to work on growing up and leave Brian and Justin alone.
His advice while interesting was not needed I think Alex was trying to point that out to Brian put the pain and despair got in the way.
Michael is still trying to move all his toys into the places he desires so he can gain forgiveness while not really working or earning it.
Brian and Justin need this time to away from the family to breathe and mend their damaged hearts so this it never gets this bad again.
Because if it hadn't been Justin it could've been Brian he was seriously skating the edge of falling into the abyss, the others mocked, praised and condemned his destructive behavior but no one thought to try to save him.
They needed Brian to be the failure so none of them had to look at how their lives weren't any better.
It's Easy To Gloat When You Ignore The Real Face In The Mirror.
It Feels Like Real Progress For Both Of Them....This Time

First of all, so sorry to hear about your Mum. Hope that she gets home and is improving daily. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. As for this chapter, it is amazing. Finally Michael is taking blame for his part in this, but is it too late. As much as I loved Brian's character, there were times when he hurt Justin that I wanted to smack him. I love happy endings and hope that there is a chance they can repair the damage that has been done, but only time and your wonderful thoughts will tell. With so much in your RL, just take care and we will wait patiently for new chapters.

I just feel so all over the place cause I want Justin to get better, but how can he when he can't heal.
So far no one is healing it is just a lot of going through the motions without any really healing, cause every time a wound is open it's another ten steps back.
Brian and Justin are trapped in this cycle that so far has no end cause they are avoiding issues that they just face.
Michael may have grown some insight into himself but he is still in a way looking for a way to save Brian for himself.
Perhaps Brian and Justin need some place away from everyone to deal with all this pain that is never-ending right now??

Oh my God...so much pain...everyone is in so much pain...when I first started reading this I hoped that it wouldn't all be about Michael but it had to be said. So much more has to be said from Michael's POV. Your writing Kerri is so poignant, so moving, so completely mournful at times, so tragically heart-rending...you have the ability to touch so many people with your words and your gift. I am in awe of you!

It's good to have you back! This chapter had Michael looking at himself and not liking what he saw, but even after all that when he finally saw Brian he once again said something that hurt Brian to the quick. The same way when he told Brian, in the series when Justin went to stay with him and Ben.

However I am concerned dropping this bombshell on Brian and then leaving him alone when he knows Brian’s penchant to maybe kill himself is risky
