To some extent I agree, it has taken quite a long time to get Brian only just past 2 months sober, and it's been nearly 2 years. But I do like a bit of anti-Michael/Lindsay/Mel, so I'm loving this at the mo!

Brian is so much calmer. He's actually taking Gus shopping and not going to a high end store! If I were the girls I wouldn't push it since with a little investigation it could be proven Brian pays more than enough to have rights to his son.

Hey Sandy!!! I really am enjoying this slow burn. It just means that however the story develops, a very SOLID friendship is being built and considering Brian's friendships with his hanger-ons now, it's going to be a GREAT thing. He certainly won't feel their loss as keenly.
As for the ending, I seriously hope Brian had the forethought to press a record button before taking the phone from Gus. I would imagine that if Melanie was true to form, the restraining order would be for 'No Contact', which Lindsay violated in her continued quest for Queen Bitchery. If it was, then Queen Twit has just earned the boobie prize; WTG Lindsay.
Anyway, I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter. Splendid job!💜💜💜

I'm thrilled that the consesus appears to be a slow burn is okay. I just didn't imagine it would take me this long to write the story. But the muses talk to me and I have to listen. As a fellow writer, I'm sure you understand that one. As much as I try to move fast, it just doesn't lend itself to the story. It will be finished when it is time.

Great chapter! Brian is really taking the high road and getting closer to Ted and Justin.
I like how he is discovering the side effects of the sobriety: tasting things for example. We take it for granted, but the way he talks about that is moving and humbling. The way he is explaining his parents' influence on him is also interesting.
The way Justin is explaining the recovering is, on one hand, very obvious and logic, and, on the other hand, from Brian's POV, no so simple.
Great job! Can't wait until next year to read how the trip to the loft will happen.

Thank you. AS I write the story I really am trying to put my thoughts into what it would be like to be Brian, newly sober, exploring his feelings and his life. I did take a little break, no school to teach, but did work by 9-5 job. Enjoyed the end of the year, but now am working on writing and starting the year off right. Great update. I am so happy Brian has finally stood up to Linds. If you don't see previous reviews from me on this story, it is because I was reading at times on MW and have a terrible time with reviews there. I get confused as to where I may have read it and if I reviewed. But it is a fantastic story and you are a wonderful writer.

No worries. MW is having a lot of issues with reviews lately. I try and comment but if the person only posts on one format, then they miss out. As a writer, I know how important revies are. While I usually get about 15 or so across all platforms that I post on, I don't get nearly the number that other writers do. Regardless, I still love writing in this fandom- 15+ years after it went off the air.

Brian is a pro at handling difficult clients so he should be able to handle Lindsay. True, but they still have to feed him and he's hitting his teenage years. Unless, they want to see if Brian wants full custody, but I doubt that will happen.

Whoa, I didn't count how many punches Brian gave Lindsay, but it was a lot! I love how he handled her and was right about her reactions. The lunch packed and the taxi were great ideas. Mel won't be that easy, while she knows the law and what Brian is able to do.
