So much sweets. I gained 5lbs. just reading it.
Author's Response: Haha, Justin too, probably ;) Thanks for reading! -PTW

I am so glad Brian was able to give Gus a brief glimpse of his childhood and recognise what makes Brian who he is. It also cemented the love when Brian told him he wouldn’t want to be anywhere but with him aw.
Author's Response: I think Brian has found a love he never knew he was capable of feeling with Gus -- and we love that Gus loves and respects his father just as much. Thanks for reading!! -PTW

Great chapter. Love that they are so happy. Wonderful writing.
Author's Response:
Thank you! :) Even though I (TI) am for sure a lover of drama...the fluff is fun sometimes too. <3

Great chapter. It is good to see a grown up Gus even under bad circumstances. Wonderful writing.
Author's Response:
Thank you! We love writing teenage guys, and we're glad you guys enjoy reading about him too! - TI

Lindsay does seem rather dense but Mel catches on fast. At least Gus has allies in Jennifer, Justin and Brian.
Author's Response: I think Lindsay just wanted to believe Gus would be more open with her, but he’s definitely got both of his moms firmly on his side now. And to be fair, Gus had intentionally not given Lindsay and Melanie any details, so they didn’t have a lot to go on besides him being stubborn. All is well now! Thanks, as always, for reading and commenting! -PTW

Poor Gus! Thank you Jennifer for the wise feedback!
Author's Response: Jennifer has been through it all with 17 year old sons, and she made sure to learn from the experience. I love that it allows for her and Justin to be as close as they are now (Brian and Jennifer too!) Thanks for reading!! -PTW

It's "funny" how Lindsay is so WASP in her behaviour while Justin just goes with the flow of Brian's not so discreet solicitations.
It's great to see how Lindsey and Brian are playful.
I love how Brian's BS detector found out the actual reason for Gus' refusal to go brunching.
I love how you created this atmosphere that feels like real-life.
Author's Response:
No teenage boy would ever claim to hate desserts, right? ;) LOL We're so happy to hear that the story feels like real life! What a great compliment -- thank you! - TI

Great chapter. Love thinking what Gus would be like as a teenager. So much Brian, but that little bit of Linds would make him so interesting. Terrific writing. Hope you had a nice holiday.
Author's Response:
Yes, we think it's so fun to imagine which parts of himself he would have inherited from each parent...and also what traits might he have picked up from Mel and Justin as well. Glad you enjoyed the chapter! - TI

Brian understands Gus better than Lindsay. So just how do they solve the problem of the reservation?
Author's Response:
The conclusion to the reservation conundrum has now been posted! ;) - TI

What a great chapter. Brian will finally have good holiday memories and it will help ease the pain of the past one. Fantastic writing.
Author's Response:
He's trying his best to get past all of that, and he has lots of support to help him. Glad you enjoyed the chapter! - TI

This is turning into an enjoyable Christmas. The girls seem much freer and enjoying themselves. Jennifer is turning back time and finding out that her grandson is interested in learning from her. Brian is finally letting go of the childhood from hell.
Author's Response:
There will be some drama, yet to come, but overall our intention is to write something fluffy with little notes of hurt/comfort mixed in with the holiday warmth. ;) Thanks for reading and reviewing! - TI

Great family time! Jennifer might have been impressive. It's fun when parents surprise their "child".
Author's Response:
We like to think she was! ;) Glad you liked the chapter! - TI

Nice seeing Mel and Brian getting along. Shame Gus didn't get to drive the Porsche when he and Brian went to pick Jennifer up from the airport.
Author's Response: Thank you! We definitely prefer storylines where there is peaceful co-parenting and friendship between the adults! It seems like it would provide a much more harmonious environment for Gus too, considering that he's a relatively well-adjusted kid in our universe. As for the Porsche, it's a rental, so Brian knows better than to take any chances! ;) -PTW

Great update. Can just picture 17 year old Gus as a mini Brian. Terrific writing.
Author's Response: Hehe. We love trying to identify the traits Gus has inherited from any variety of his parents -- non-biological included! So glad you're enjoying it. Thanks so much!! -PTW

Really enjoying this.
Author's Response: We're so happy you're enjoying it! Thanks so much! -PTW

Great chapter! Gus and GiGi! It's amazing that they have that kind of relationship, considering that Gus spent almost his life in Canada and Jennifer might not have seen him so often.
It's hilarious how you describe Justin's sleeping habits.
Author's Response: Jennifer doesn't have any other grandsons (in this verse, Molly doesn't have kids yet), so I think she would enjoy the opportunity to have someone to dote on -- and Brian/Justin welcome it, considering his grandparents on the Kinney/Peterson sides! I grew up only seeing my grandparents 1-2x per year from when I was about 12 onward, and remained close with them, so I think it's just what you make of it :) Thanks, as always, for your great feedback, though! So glad you're still enjoying the ride :) -PTW

Brian is still having trouble with the holidays in spite of Lindsay's trying to improve it. Perhaps if they did something totally different?
Author's Response: I think Brian will always have demons on some level, due to the nature of his childhood -- but I think the time spent with their group in Toronto will improve things for him. Don't worry -- we're suckers for a happy ending ;) Thanks, as always, for reading, and your comments! -PTW

Great chapter. It's fun reading a Christmas story in the summer. Wonderful writing.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! We were too excited to wait til it was seasonally appropriate! ;) -PTW

Brian is so moody that I hope he will get better during the next days.
Mel seems to have no ulterior motive(s).
If Lindsay tones it down a little, the week should be lighter and enjoyable for the family.
Author's Response: Brian wasn't in a bad mood, just the holidays are a little rough for him. This chapter's incident left him feeling strangely pleasant in a way he wasn't expecting. Linds will be Linds, haha, but she won't impede (most of) their visit ;) Thanks, as always, for your comment! -PTW

I love how Brian is "in your face" and so witty, though, he didn't dare asking for the kind of meat he prefers.
I'm surprised by Mel's behaviour and I'm waiting for the other shoes to drop, but maybe I'm wrong.
What is the package Justin had delivered by the munchers and what is the dessert? Can't wait to find out!
Author's Response: Mel and Brian have a pretty good relationship in this 'verse, especially after "Convalescent Contemplation" -- hopefully their exchanges will keep you pleasantly surprised :) Thanks for reading -- and stay tuned for the rest of your answers :) -PTW

This was so good. Just seeing Lindsay acting like the energizer bunny. And, picturing them at the table trying to all enjoy it was priceless. Wonderful story, Fantastic writing.
Author's Response: Haha, that's kinda how Lindsay seemed in my mind too. Glad she's gonna take it down a notch :P I do enjoy a good group dynamic though, so happy you liked it! Thank you!! :) -PTW

Date: Aug 05, 2019 7:03 pm Title: Chapter 2
So what's for dessert? Are you sure that Lindsay isn't on speed?
Author's Response: Haha! She's going to cool it, moving forward ;) Dessert is coming in Chapter 3!! Thanks for reading! -PTW

great, hope there be an update soon
Author's Response: I think we will be updating on Mondays, moving forward. Thanks for reading!! -PTW

Nice start! How old is Gus here?
Author's Response:
Thank you! :) Gus is 17 in this story. - TI

The banter in the car is hilarious: from Justin daring Brian to order his own load of carbs, to the Border Agent risking having a hot live show and then Jenny peeping as soon as she can in hope to see one of the tenth World Wide Splendor.
Great to read that Jennifer's relationship with Brian is so important and peaceful.
It's also funny how Justin is trying to get to drive the replacement of the Vette.
Beautiful job!!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! We think a Brian/Justin roadtrip would be fun. Of course Justin would have all sorts of random places he'd want to stop. And poor Jenny will have to miss out on this visit! (Btw, the Porsche is just a rental car for this trip, hence why Justin is so eager -- the guys don't have a car in NYC since it'd be impractical, and Brian enjoys being driven around most of the time) ;) Can't wait to share more! -PTW
