Brian listened to Gus and that was why he went to help Mel, he is giving her the chance to face the truth which is that everything wrong in her life is because she chose to stay in a relationship that was out of steam a longtime ago.

She and Lindsay don't understand love because they see it as a competition not two people fighting together to make sure both are happy.

Mel blames Brian because it is easier than admitting she chose the wrong person and that she wished she had the balls to live her life as free as Brian.

Brian and Justin work because they don't live by society's rules and they are willing to compromise to make the other happy.

Lindsay is too busy trying to live the life her parents raised her in with everyone praising her for breathing and Mel wants to prove to every man that crosses her path that she is 10xs better than them in everything.

Too bad the kids got ignored in their quest to always be right and important to everyone.

Mel, Lindsay, Deb and Michael want applause and adoration for being in the room, but their lives revolve around Brian Kinney and the people who is allowed to be near him.

Without Brian they have to face the truth about the choices they made and the people they hurt and at the moment no one wants to face their real shelves.

Maybe Mel is ready but I kinda doubt it because she is still blaming Brian???

It would be nice if Mel sees that Gus is more important and does what needs to be done.  I'm so proud that Hunter wants Jenny in his life.  Brian and Justin are on the same page right now and it's nice to have friends like Ethan and Cody!

These last two chapters were explosive and have left me wanting MORE! That's certainly not hard to do with your writing since it is so fabulous <in my Emmett voice>!

I'm so happy that Gus is getting things out into the open. I really like Dr. Turner's approach to getting him to talk. The whole cancer arc is so true to life. I remember what it was like for my siblings and I after we found out about my dad, several years before he passed away from two forms of cancer. We were adults, but like Gus here, we had a hard time deciphering between chemo's uses. Also like him, for a time my older brother and sister thought that if they didn't speak about it, it didn't exist. It was such a reality check for them when they realized the side effects after dad had started treatment. Whereas my sister and I lived in the same house as our Folks, they didn't. So seeing dad after the first few treatments meant that they couldn't pretend anymore. But back to the story...

It also had to be hard to process and reconcile what he's heard from Mel to the father that Brian is. I've always hated that she would say things about Brian's sex life when she wasn't squeaky clean herself. Not only that, but she was also ill-informed of his reasons for being the way he is. Besides, it's not as if he was cheating on anyone <cough, cough Munchers> so really who was he harming? I think Brian hit the nail on the head this chapter when he asked her if she was jealous because she wasn't in a position to do the same. I've always thought that about her, even throughtout the series. After all, it was the only thing she ever really found fault with him about.

As for the fight at Muncher Mansion, okay....so I actually cheered when Lindsay got slapped since I've felt like doing that to her since the start of this fic. But the fact that Michael did it to her and she said NOTHING against him???? Well SLAP her ass AGAIN!!! I can't believe the crap she, Michael and Deb were able to pull, especially after Mel defended the shrew she calls her wife! I really hope that Mel takes all that Brian has said to her while Ted bailed her out to heart. I also hope that Mel gets a bit honest herself and tells Brian about just why and what stage-bitch Lindsay has been up to regarding Justin. If there are any bills in Mel's name within that house though, Mel should call and discontinue the service immediately. Hopefully that would include the cable/internet bill, phone service and lights. Lindsay shouldn't be allowed to continue living off of Mel and Brian while she continues to weave her webs of deception.

Michael and Deb are still pathetic! I wonder if there is a way to have them arrested for stalking since their refusal to leave the station at the mention of Brian showing up basically constitutes as that. I really can't wait to see how Justin is going to deal with them and Lindsay. I don't think he'll have much trouble out of Mel going forward if Brian's plan works out the way it should, but the other three...yeah something needs to be done ASAP!

I'm glad that Justin found an alternative to going to London himself. His job requires the ultimate focus and resolve; there's no way that could happen if he's worried about the goings on at home. Also having Nick and Daphne close by is going to help a lot. Brian is right, it's time for him and Daph to resolve their differences. And WHOAAAAAAA what hotness at the end of the chapter! Hello Mr. Happy Hard-on. It was scorching but also very loving and touching to have them come together again when a lot of the things they've been holding back from each other has been said in the manner that it was meant, not necessarily given. It wasn't the result of an argument, but relief and the realization that they didn't want to lose each other through the actions of other people. It was powerful in that way.

Looking forward to MORE!

Happy Writing and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Wow, what a powerful chapter.  This story just gets better and better.  It is one that I can't wait to see completed, but will miss terribly when that happens.  You are an amazing writer.

What a good chapter.  Maybe once Brian hears how Gus feels, he will really see just what a jerk Michael is.  At least I hope so.  Great writing.

I'm glad Gus is talking to the therapist.  I think it's the best thing for him right now.

I have mixed feelings about Mel getting arrested.  I want to be mad at her for how she parents Gus and talks down to Brian but look at what she has to put up with.

Michael and Deb should be in the cell right next to her.

As difficult as it might be, it's good that Gus is starting to put words on his pain.

Mel is in jail because she reacted to protect Lindsay who didn't say anything: I hope she will continue to analyze her life and make amends.

I know Brian is bailing her out for the kids but I would have left her in there, but Brian has to be the bigger person and not accept like her.

Gus talking about his worries is good is already seeing that he can depend on Brian to be there for him

Not surprised there was a fight and Lindsay let Mel go to jail she sees Justin as her future and Mel, the kids are her past <shakes head> Children playing at being grown ups

Love that Gus is getting help.  Now Mel getting jailed was actually unfair, since Michael hit Lindsay.  Michael should have been the one rotting in jail.

Love all your stories.  This one has Michael and Deb making us wonder what they are thinking.  So selfish both of them.  Mel's sanity is in question too.  Now to work on Brian's being guilty.

Deb is making me physically ill. *C-word*!! UGH!!! Vic finally saw the true her and got out. Poor Brian. From one abusive home to another. There's no coming back from the road she's taken.

Michael definitely has me concerned. Not sure what he's capable of. What schemes will he hatch and how dangerous will they be? Michael however has no idea of Justin's background or what he's capable of. May shock him.

Great update! Thanks.

Cheers,

I always loved Vic.  I'm glad he was on Brian's side in this situation.

I think therapy is exactly what they need to become a family again.   I'm so happy that they are all willing to go, even Gus.

Thanks for the update.

Hugs,

Jessica

The way Debbie is thinking is horrible and I'm glad Vic told her; at least Brian had someone thinking about his well being.

So relieved that the restraining orders are delivered.

Mel is desperate to turn Gus against Brian and I think it is because she is jealous of Brian and Gus's relationship, she may have raised Gus but Gus can depend on Brian no matter.

I also think Mel could be hiding something she did to Brian or Justin that she hopes Gus will never find out or Brian who with Justin will destroy and not think twice about it????

At the moment Gus loathes his mothers but if Mel or Lindsay or both did something unforgivable he will hate them Forever and That Is A Promise!

Vic telling Debra that she is no better than their parents goes to show that she is just repeating all the things she hated.

Vic died Happy knowing he was free of his sister's form of love.

Vic tried to get his sister to see that her form of love was just as abusive as Jack and Joan's and that love is not suppose to come with conditions.

Brian finally did what Vic hoped for he fell in love and now sees Deb and Michael for who they really are which means he isn't taking anymore of the crap which they believe is love.

Brian and Justin are seeing the mistakes they made and by talking they are regaining the control they let others take.

They are also helping Gus regain some control over his life and stop being the adult surrounded by spoiled inconsiderate children.

Spoiled children who spend all their time doling out advice about love and relationships, but don't know how to fix the problems in their own relationships or lives.

Great chapter.  I love your stories and this one is so good.  Real Life just has to get in the way for all of us at times.  Glad to hear your plans.  I get so upset when a story is going so well and really interesting and then the writer just stops updating it.  They will say RL got in the way or some excuse, but start another one or two more stories.  Why start something new when you have WIPS hanging out there for days, weeks and sometimes longer?

SUPER chapter!

Everyone is finally realizing just what mnaipulative a$$holes Michael and Debbie really are in this one. Looking forward to their reaction to the restraining orders. that sould be intersting.

Gus and much to unload off his chest. He's finally at a point of being able to say some of it. Hopefully he will go to talk to Alex either as a family or on his own. Or both. He's dealing with an awful lot and needs to be able to talk about it freely.

Well done!!!

Cheers,

Elaine

Alex's insight into Michael is very accurate Michael had been spoiled since Deb knew he existed and she expected everyone to disregard Michael's faults and just bend over.

Because she jumped whenever Michael cried or whined she trained Brian and everyone else to do the same.

Of course she doesn't want Brian to date Michael because he isn't good enough for her baby, but he is expected to drop everything and everyone to take care of Michael for the rest of his life

Ben knew Brian despite his faults would do anything for a friend and used Brian's generous nature to bind Brian to Michael forever.

It's just too bad Brian could see past Michael's boy next door act to the evil little vampire he really is.

Mel, Lindsay and Deb are are determined to suck the life out of Brian every chance they get and they don't care who they have to hurt to get what they want.

Alex telling Carl to sit back and watch Justin do his thing is right.

Justin has everything they done or said to him to destroy them because they supplied him with enough ammunition to do it.

Did Ted file restraining orders against Mel and Lindsay too.

As much as I worry about Michael I wouldn't count Mel and Lindsay out, especially considering their freak out about Justin owning half of Kinnectic.

Gus expressing how he feels about Brian's reputation and the stuff he had to hear repeatedly from Mel, Lindsay, Michael and Deb, all of them going to family therapy will help Gus get rid of all the anger he is feeling.

How is Jenny doing?

So who will freak out more concerning the restraining orders and who will strike first?

Brian and Justin not only have Ted, Emmett and their partners on their side, they also have Carl and Alex.  It was great that they had an overdue talk with Gus.  I can't wait to see Justin take on Michael.  That would be a treat.

A really good chapter.  Now if only you can keep Michael from ruining the progress that is being made.  I like when Michael is the bad guy, but don't like him hurting the others.  Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the update.

It's good for Gus to talk about what bothering him; it's a shame he knows Brian's reputation as he doesn't have all the elements to understand.

I just want to choke Lindsay, Michael and Debbie.  Why can't they realize Brian is not their property.  He has a family, a husband.

I'm so glad that Ted, Emmett and Drew are helping them.

Thanks for the update.

Jessica
