Wow, another amazing and intense chapter! Another small step, another approximation. The things Brian said at the end of the chapter were so important, their tears were so important, that was a start. I like this picture: "I didn't have strings attached to my body that you controlled, Puppet Master" - because that's how it often was. Justin didn't let it all out enough in my opinion and Brian still had a long way to go, but it's realistic that this all can not happen in one therapy session. After reading the next chapter immediately after this one, I got a better understanding of my feeling - he didn't get all the damage and his true share of it. I was wondering how Brian could be so astonished by Justin's doubts that he cares. Justin mentioned only a few moments here, there were lots of others where Justin was deeply disappointed, hurt in private or public or just plain hurtful rejected by Brian (the hustler for the birthday, the picnic...). So yeah, I can totally understand Justin not telling Brian about Sap's party. And damn it, can he still not say it? Why did he say he cares instead of simply "I love you"...

Well, I am now a big ball of tears, omg. I am so happy that they're talking, finally. They both needed this. They both needed to be forced to ask and answer the questions that were eating each other up inside.

Lol, that's debatable, hon, believe me, lol. Ask my daughter - she loves coming to me for English related stuff, but she just sadly shakes her head when it comes to math and goes to her daddy, all the while murmuring that it's okay that I suck at math - she loves me anyway! But thank you.

What an emotional chapter!!! Amazing job.
Brian is right: they are not out of the wood yet, but they are on the ascending part or at its beginning.
I love the way Brian didn't let Justin get away and held him tight; Justin's hands speak for him: even if he wanted, he couldn't not touch Brian in this so intimate and raw moment.
His confession about how Brian treated him was a hard one, but so true: Brian could be so cruel.
The part about Gus and Justin was wonderfully written too. It's great that Brian is aware of this important link for both of his boys.

Why, Why, Why Did The Show Gloss Over Such A Sensitive Time In Brian and Justin's Life, why did they just ignore the trauma of the bashing for more Michael whining and the girls insipid fighting and relationship?
Perhaps if they had given consideration to the pain Chris Hobbs inflicted that night, and how Brian and Justin needed to face this pain perhaps we wouldn't have gotten such a tepid season four and a dull season five.
Brian opening up and letting Justin lash out so they can heal is what they should've done when Justin came to live with Brian.
This is another good start for them cause without any pointless interruptions they are taking away that pain of past.
Justin holding on tightly to Brian while they both cry is a soothing balm to the cuts on both their hearts.

What an amazing chapter. Your writing is beyond incredible. The detail of all that happened is amazing, but you really made the readers feel all the things that Justin felt because of Brian's beliefs. And, having Brian finally realize just how horrible he had been by hiding his feelings was perfect. I hope that this is the start of a turning point and maybe, just maybe a happy ending will come.
