I love this story, I also love that it brings to light that words can definitely cut as deeply as actions, and its obvious that Michael and many in the "extended" family dont see how deeply they have hurt others, especially Justin and many times, Brian! And that sometimes you have to fight for what you want in life! I have loved Brian from the first episode but there are times I thought he was a total shit to Justin, not understanding how deeply his actions hurt Justin, not that Justin was alway an innocent bystander but at 17 he didnt have the life expereinces to fully understand how his actions, like walking out the door, would affect his and Brians life.
Your writing is superb, I hope you write at least another 50 chapters to this story!! Candy

Brian is ready to face Justin and fight to save Justin and himself so they can have a future.
The Man Brian was ended the moment he met Justin under that street lamp and now he has to face the pain he caused Justin and the pain that was inflicted upon himself by Jack and Joan.
Brian is about to see first hand how his, Michael's and everyone else's words affected Justin and he is about to see how words can rob a person of their soul if you hear the same phrase over and over again.
Brian can't ignore the past cause it influenced his present and he has to change his future, he has to stop the cycle of abuse by opening the door and letting all of the pain out,iff Deb had gotten him help instead of just bandaging him up and feeding him then this wouldn't have happened and he wouldn't be afraid to love someone.
Everyone has to change the present in order to better grasp the future or this will never change.
They have to rip off that band aid and let all the pain, anger and hurt out in order to heal themselves and each other before they can ever be friends first.
Wonder how everyone is doing now that they know how their behavior affected Justin and do they know what Michael did?

Yes, Brian's pain management is something Justing learned quickly.
I hope Justin won't react badly when Brian will arrive.
Brian is going to deeply suffer from this decision: he won't be able to go back and to say "stop", otherwise it will be the end for Justin. He will have to go deep down to be able to go up with Justin by his side. That's a bold, but mandatory phase for both of them.

Wow. These last two chapters hit hard. I'm glad. When we invite, allow someone else into our life, we don't get the option of saying 'fuck you' to the pain they feel at things we do or say. The point Alex makes about the skewed power dynamic between the man and the boy is excellent. It was very unhealthy and unequal. Not just emotionally, but financially, physically, experientially... Yes, he does. A long way. I had a review on another site asking me when they were going to have sex - was it soon? Uh...no. Even their upcoming "reunion" won't make some people happy because I tend to try and write as realistically as possible. But meh, what do you do? Brian has a shit ton of growing up to do, as does Justin in some ways.

It never ceases to amaze me the level of self-obsession that is Michael Novotny. Even when he's being a 'good guy' it's still all about him. His need to apologize to Justin had NOTHING to do with Justin and EVERYTHING to do with himself. He needed to unload HIS burden, not lighten Justin's. That's not an apology, that giving himself an emotional enema. I know we tend to over-do his selfishness in our fiction, but even in canon he was totally self-absorbed. Jesus, what an emotional troglodyte.
But at least Brian is beginning to get a clue about his own abusive behavior. He really needs to separate himself from 'the family'. He's addicted in a way to the myth of who Brian Kinney is, and like an alcoholic, he needs to find a support system that doesn't constantly remind him that he just needs another drink.

Justin was a man drowning calling for help and everyone ignored his cries.
Brian has opened his eyes to the truth of Justin's pain and his pleas for someone to listen and he is seeing how much pain he alone caused his Sunshine.
By forcing Justin to forget The Prom he could hide his own pain but it was pain Justin was going through that no one noticed because they wanted everything to be normal.
Brian fucking Justin was just a joke for everyone to mock so they could ignore the pain and loneliness in their own lives.
Michael let his jealousy consume him and in the process it consumed Justin aswell because he used Justin as his personal punching bag when Brian ignored him.
In a way didn't they all use Justin to make themselves feel better?
Brian lashing out at Michael is way past due he should have told Michael to Mind His Own Business years ago.
Sad thing is Brian was always afraid Justin would break his heart and that's why he treated him like crap and kept him at a distance, but it was actually Michael who broke his heart by telling his heart that it would have been better for everyone if his heart had died!!
Michael came to Brian for absolution and it just made everything 10xs worse than before.
Brian will never forgive him for this.
Bet they are all thinking about Justin asking for help and how they treated him, how they have always treated his and Brian's feelings because they believed the lie instead of the truth that was staring them in the face.
When you hold a mirror up to the truth the reflection back is more uglier than the lie you put your faith in.
Another teary-eyed chapter and I can't wait for the next!!!!

What an amazing chapter! The emotions that Brian was feeling, I could feel them too.
Even if what Michael told him was daggers through his heart, Brian now knows quite all that Michael did/said and why; I suspect he had known the "why", but to hear it like that must have been awful because he now knows that Justin asked for help, and nobody replied and he "drown" alone in his misery and pain. What a shame for such a brilliant person, not that it would be welcomed for an average victim.

Michael wants absolution for his shitty treatment of Justin to inflate his grandiose attitude.
Brian has completely shut him out and he knows this time Brian is not going to forgive him, so he went to Justin to fix it only Justin is not going to roll over and ignore how Michael treated him like the others were taught to do.
Brian did agree No Kissing Anyone On The Lips then broke it every time for Michael, so if you think about it Brian did break the rules long before Justin did.
