WOW! This was so beautifully written and I could picture everything as I read on with bated breath. I would love to see more from this as so much more could be explored, but that is just me being greedy. Wonderful story as always <3

Author's Response:

I am so glad you found this story interesting, SunshineSally.  Actually, quite a few folks wanted more of this story, and so I was inspired to take a look at how everyone who mattered would react to what happened.  That story should be ready soon.  I hope you will check it out too once it is posted.  Thank you so much for your comments.  Warm hugs, Grammy

I really like this look at the aftermath of the bashing. Well done!

Deb

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Deb.  It was a bit painful reliving such a traumatic event, but worth it in order to try and understand how it affected Brian so deeply.  I'm so glad you approved of my vision.  Huge hugs, Grammy

Your writing in this story was so illustrative. I was almost hesitant to read this when you hinted at a not-so-happy ending. But I'm so happy I took the plunge, because as you explained in your 'end notes' this was just what took place immediately after the bashing. So I'm happy I read it. It was a perfect reflection of how Brian's mind works.

Aside from your view-point on the bashing, I'm trying to think if I've ever read any stories which follow-up on the hospital gathering, and everybody's collective thoughts. So if you feel otherwise inspired, that might be a good companion piece. But, thank you for this story...

BTW... I absolutely love your banner for this story. It tells a story, in and of itself.

Hugs, Cathy

Author's Response:

As always, you have made my day, Bjluv.  I knew that a story like this might put some folks off, but when it was suggested by a reader I knew I had to tackle it.  I had never thought of how little the show actually gave us with that whole event.  They skipped right from the immediate attack to the hospital.  They certainly gave us the angst that we'll never forget, but it was interesting to try and imagine what was really going on with Brian throughout that time period.  I am thrilled that you liked what I came up with.

I have to admit that your idea of following up with what went on with all the others who cared about Justin is intriguing and something I think I'll pursue.  I do hope you will check it out if I can complete that part of the gap filler too.

I want to thank you especially for your comments on the banner.  As I said, it is created by my talented Granddaughter, Marika.  She has made a number of banners for me, and I am always so pleased with her work.  She has never even seen the show once but has a feel for what I need with my stories.  I will pass on your compliment to her.  Huge hugs, Grammy

I know you say the end, but there is so much more to this and you always give us something good.

Author's Response:

I did write The End, but as you may notice I didn't really end it like that.  I hated ending on such a negative note, so I wanted the readers to understand that Brian and Justin did end up back together and stronger than ever later on.  And I'm now considering a follow-up story that will give some insight into what happens with the others who care about Justin too.  If I am able to complete it, I hope I'll see you then.  Thank you so much for your kind words, YumYum.  Huge hugs, Grammy

This was simply superb! I felt like I was right there with Brian. Just what I was looking for...your words really moved me...thank you!

Author's Response:

You are most welcome and thank you for the inspiration, Glo.  I was always so wrapped up in the pain of watching those scenes that I never stopped to think of how much was missing during that time period.  You made me think about it and I really appreciate it.  I'm thrilled that you enjoyed what I imagined.  Huge hugs, Grammy

Great story.  Your are right.  Not the usual happy ending that I love for you to write, but it did tell the story in such good details.  And, remember love conquers all.

Author's Response:

You are so right, Mamab.  It was really hard for me to not tack on a happily ever after to this story, but that's not what it was about.  Basically, this was simply a gap-filler to try and imagine what was going on with Brian from the moment he scooped Justin's lifeless body up to comfort him to the moment he sat so alone in the waiting area at the hospital.  I am so glad you approved of my thoughts on this time period.  Thank you for your great comments.  Huge hugs, Grammy
