I loved it! I adore stories where we find out more about our beloved characters. Some of the highlights, Brian's reset button, Justin figuring this out, and the fact that Brian can build things, and also that he allowed another fact of his past come to light. I hope you write more stories! <3

I would think another idea would be Brian cooking some fancy dish- Brian historically doesn't cook, but he learned to make one fancy dish for whatever reason you decide.

I have purchased four of them so far this year, and I stand in awe of Brian. None of them are the same ,some I never could get together right and just put back in the box to return.

Fiirst - WELCOME TO KD! And congrats on your first story!!!
This was good. It so nice reading a story where it's twenty years later, and they have been married and seem really happy and settled.
I have read other stories about Brian having woodworking abilities, but nothing in this capacity, but when thinking of his childhood, I can definitely see him having to collect wood to make a make-shift ramp. So, I found that very plausible, and due to the shut in's, Brian couldn't call in a handyman to 'come and do it.'
On a side note - I think it would hilarious if they were grilling outside and a little chipmuck came along and Brian went running screaming like a banshee.
And maybe Justin is afraid of severe ligthning. Not storms n general - but really severe lightning.
