Yes, there are too many idiots ... either they are stupid or selfish ... or both ... By the way, have you gotten your vaccination in the meantime?

This chapter ... what can I say ... I really really so love it!!! At first I was concerned that Brian would stand in his own way, that he would withdraw from Justin... Fortunately, Justin has not forgotten the Brian Kinney manual. ;-) And I so love your ideas in this chapter. The idea that Justin painted these portraits to remember and to somehow keep these people alive is, if somehow also totally sad, also totally beautiful. And also that Brian is the first and only one who Justin shows these pictures to so far is just amazing. I think you brought them so close together with this scene. They share their sadness and pain. and although it's a very sad and painful scene, it is also in some way so peaceful, quiet and beautiful. And I also love your idea with the worn t-shirt to help Brian through the night. I‘m sure it works!. Justin is really a wonderful person in this chapter and you make up for a lot with it ... ;-) What is also very well expressed in this chapter is the absolute pain that Justin went through because of the loss of Brian. Because of the little anger I felt about Justin‘s behavior I have nearly forgotten about that. So, looking forward to Sunday! Stay healthy and warmest regards!

Author's Response:

Hey, yes, I got my first jab last Sunday actually. It was with Pfizer/BioNtech and everything was fine. Just a bit of a sore arm for a day or two, but no other side effects at all!

Now I am waiting for the second jab to be fully protected against the Delta variant - it's on the rise here in Ireland and our numbers are going up like crazy. Mostly in border regions close to Northern Ireland and most infections are in the 16-24 year old age bracket, but the new numbers are scary... Yesterday we cracked 1000 new cases a day for the first time since early February :/

I am glad that you liked this chapter - it's honestly one of my favourite moments in this story. Obviously - like you pointed out correctly - it's a very important moment between Brian and Justin, but yeah, just the idea of the portraits, of this being Justin's only way to remember the family he lost... I thought it was a beautiful tribute to all the people he/they lost.

And like you say, we really see Justin's pain and what he went through for the first time. I know his pain was mentioned before, I know he said himself that he had shitty years as well, but this is the first time we start to see and understand his pain and what he went through, which was important for Brian to see, just like it was important for Justin to see what Brian went through.

So yeah, all in all a chapter that brought them closer together and will hopefully help them to move on together :)

As for the shirt - we'll find out soon if it helps or not ;)

As always, thanks for your comment - it's much appreciated! More will be up tomorrow! Until then, stay safe (I guess you made it through the heavy rain last week okay? Berlin seems to have been okay from what I could see on the news)!

Someone needs to destroy Gilead. The way things seem at times makes me wonder. Such a good story.>> Cat

Author's Response:

Unfortunately, too many regimes like Gilead really exist and still exist in some places in the world :/ It's hard to accept that something like this could really be possible...

I am glad you like the story! Thanks for the feedback :)
