I am impressed by the way everyone handled Michael. He needed to hear some harsh truths about how his actions are affecting JR. As a parent, you should never feel like you have to compete with next. He needs to understand that at her age, all JR wants is his time and love.

Even if Ben had commented Mikey wouldn't have been happy. He justs wants a yesman. He's not going to be happy with his mom either. I do like Ben's advice. Luckily everyone else is doing fine.

Glad therapy seems to be working out for Mel and Lindz, especially Mel. Her phone call with Brian really showed the growth and potential growth for their relationship! Also happy to see that Lindsay stayed out of it or put Melanie in an insecure place by insisting she call Brian. I also loved how they are handling Michael- not allowing him to place the blame for his own inadequacies on the people who are picking up his responsibilities when he shirks his duty to Jenny. They didn't owe him anything except a slight apology about moving without telling him... but based on how he's acting, who could blame them??
Michael really needs to GROW UP! Again with his selfish need to be at the center of everyone's world. No one owes him an explanation for the decisions they make, especially fegarding their kids. And no one should have to endure his criticism for being the type of parent they want to be. Case in point, his references to Brian's spending habits in terms of Gus are NONE of his business. In fact he should be grateful that Brian doesn't do what apperently Michael doesn't think twice about doing which is exclude one child because he provided sperm for the other. I'm glad that Mel, Lindsay and Ben caught on that Michael's tirade isn't really about Jenny at all. It was all about Michael Novotny-C.O.A! Just when you think there might be hope for him, he opens his mouth...again SMH

No matter what Michael is not taking the blame for anything. He'd of the opinion that JR should have done what he wanted not the other way around. I wonder how Deb used to handle that with him? It's good that therapy is working well for Melanie and Lindsay, maybe that's something Michael should look into? Gus is happy that Justin is his papa. I am too.

I'm amazed at how well Mikey is adjusting. Ben didn't yell like I was kinda hoping. Will Mikey be happy with the results once Mel and Lindsay have finished talking to Ben. Or will he go postal when he finds the girls are moving back to the Pitts and near Brian and Justin. As for Emmett, he heard before Deb didn't he. Boy are they going to get an earful from her?

I think that he is going to feel left out again. All these changes and he is the last to know. Emmett if you look at the list is somewhere around 7 i think and Deb is after him. Deb is to worried about Michael, Deb reaction later will stem from Michael.

Wow. I take a nap and wake up to find another chapter. Whoopeee!!!! Love that when Mel started crossing out things it was to add Justin as a parental unit. Boy is Mikey going to blow a gasket when he finds out. How funny that Mikey's POV is so short and we have to wait to find out what Ben says. I hope that Mel and Lindsay make Ben a legal dad and do away with Michael's.

Mikey has a problem with Justin helping his daughter, so rather then discussing it with his 'husband' he takes his mother's car and drives to Florida? You know what i just realized i never named a place. I live in Florida so it was the first place i thought of but Miami works. I finished the next chapter and will post it sometime tomorrow. I have someone coming to Michael.

Believe me (kind of a continuation of my earlier comment) I don't think you are being harsh. I actually think you are spot on in how you describe Michael's head-space.

I think that Michael was always a character that you had to hit with a brick then he came out of it. I guess harsh is bad more like i am putting alot of emotion on him. He wants to be everything to JR but when everything he is doing is going wrong he can't just say okay Justin help me. Ben hasn't said to him let me help he is constantly lecturing. Brian who would usually help can't because he need to be there for Gus. Michael is in a spin right now. Justin tries to tell everyone to let him be and he will come around. I alway think of the scene when Captain Astro dies Justin is rubbing his back and feels bad for him.
It doesn't help that Mel and Lindsay had a child with him but they never really were great friends with him. Mel wanted a baby, but really didn't want the father. Lindsay was just along for the ride. I think that no one in the story see that Michael wasn't told things when they happened like you move with my kid and tell me months later. That is wrong and the Dr they are seeing tells them.

First off - full disclosure: I really, really don't like Michael... LOL
Now, I was looking through some of the other comments and I just have to (ohgodIcan'tbelieveI'msayingthis) defend Michael a little bit. Yes, he's acting like a baby/being selfish/totally self-absorbed - because that's who he is, but he's also acting like someone who really has no idea how to parent. He wants to be the love of his child's life and he isn't and it hurts and that gets confused with old jealousies. I'm with Justin - give him time (and maybe some of those parenting classes the women are taking).
He really has NO experience with girls, raising them or dealing with them, and girls are very different than boys.
I don't like how Michael has run off, obviously, but somehow I think the girls will put him in his place a bit more. I hope so.

I know I'm being really harsh. Justin is actually on Michaels side. Michael is just mad. He wants to be a good dad, but it's hard for him to talk to Justin. When he gets back home Justin is going to take him in hand and help him. Justin lets it slide but is waiting for Michael to come to him.

I wanted to say I'm really enjoying this story. I've sat here and read the chapters been posted so far and I'm in love with the story. I'm so proud of Brian, Justin, Ben and everyone else. I love Gus as an older brother, I love he is making sure JR is taking care of too. I'm not happy with Michael. Michael is treating JR horribly and I'm so glad that Lindsay and Mel are getting help. Everyone else is acting like adults and putting Gus and JR first. Michael isn't putting JR needs above his own. Brian, Justin, and Ben are putting the children's first and making sure they are taken care of. Brian cares so much for JR and wants her needs to be met too. Please post more soon!!!

First thank you for reading this it's only the second thing i have ever written. Second I think that when a children have to deal with things like parent's fighting it brings them closer together. Michael isn't trying to be a bad father but he really isn't a good one remember Hunter taking off. I was thinking of how Mel and Lindsay just said bomb we need each other and nothing was solved.

Michael is acting like such a baby! He honestly believes that he is still in competition with Justin. He is acting more like a drop-in Dad then Brian ever could, it is not surprising he is acting jealous and spiteful he always did that when no one was paying attention to him. Nice to see Deb not playing his game anymore the apron strings had to be cut sooner or later.
The girls are finally acting like adults and they are coming to realize that their actions do have consequences for Gus and Jenny Rebecca.
Glad Brian is refusing to play along with Michael the time has come for everyone to stop coddling Michael he is a grown man who should be more concerned about his daughter then himself.
