All these plans and schemes all to own and control Brian for money and power which none of them earned or deserve because of how greedy and selfish they are.
Brian isn't the prize in a cracker jack box he is a hunt being who worked for everything he owned , while they all were just too lazy and selfish to go out and work for it like he did and does.
John and Brian have a lot of years to mat up for and now they have the time to do it without anymore interference from The Lazy Idiots Club.
Thankfully Gus and the babies will be safe from Lindsay who only loves Money and Power, those kids will never be infected by her and her evil ways with this family to love and support them.
Joan has lost so much and there is no one who will care when she no longer walks the earth... well besides the bottles of alcohol at the liquor store lol
Brian, Justin have some plans to make concerning their children home and thus new family they are making with Melanie.

HUGS, MieMie! It felt amazing to write for the joy of it again. Between school and certain aspects of my career, sometimes the opportunity to just be one with the work is fleeting. But this felt so good!

Well, you did yourself proud, and didn't disappoint us readers with the explanation of John's reasons for not contacting Brian. There were so many variables that John considered while wondering if he should or shouldn't contact Brian. And if I thought Joan was a pious, mean bitch before, this just escalated that up a notch. And all these years that Lindsay has been siphoning money from Joan? WOW!
I found myself mixing up this story with SOWK, during the talking about the families and marriage and inheriting. I started humming -
And my head I'd be a scratchin' / If I only had a brain.
I'd read a part... then I'd have to stop and think... it was more funny than not.
Well, Brian has a very long time to enjoy his new family. And it's good, honest people. True friends. At last, he's truly happy.

Not going to lie, this is one of those rare occasions where I was in literal tears while writing Brian's introspection. Claire's, too! In this one, Joan makes me want to take a stick to her. But whereas she may not be as punished as I would want her to be, having her 'clone' do so will be the icing on my cake!
