Loved the story.  Though I would have perferred a little more Barefoot Boy and less Triston.  Watching (reading) the adventures of Justin often brings a smile. The interaction between Justin and just about anyone (everyone) is fun to read.  I bet it is fun to write.  Bareftoot Bouy is a wonderful character, and I do hope to see more of him in the future.   DavidR

Author's Response:

Thank you, David. Not surprisingly, the Tristan chapters were so much harder to write. This Justin really is a special character. Thanks for reading! TAG

After reading this chapter I feel like singing "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?"  Or something like that.

This should be fun.  Brian now thinks he is on the proul.  Well -- well don't look now but so it Justin.

Author's Response:

Haha. That made me laugh. That does seem fitting.

A very different kind of B/J meeting for sure. I hope it will be fun.

More to be posted soon. Thanks for the comment.

Hi,

There are so many aspects to this story that I

especially enjoy.

I have gone ice skating.  Well… to be more exact,

ankle skating.  I think you know whatI mean.  I still

don’t know how people actually stand up on those skates and we here we have descriptions of

Justin speeding on the ice, turning or whatever

you call it, and actually jumping.  Male/female

figure skating is one of my favorite sports during

the winter Olympics.

I also thought it was so clever for Justin to show in

almost every way how much he idolizes and loves

Brian without verbalizing and not putting Brian

into emotional  situations. Of cause now that

Brian has said it, as Justin surmised, now what?

Emmett?  I don’t know his role in this story is, but

I am guessing it will be outrageously funny.

Right, right, not funny to Craig. Who cares?

Once again, thank you for this wonder story.  As I

said before, I am truly enjoying it.

Author's Response:

Hi!

I'm really glad you're enjoying this story. For sure, this one is a bit different, and I really enjoyed writing it.

I do love professional figure skating, most especially at the Olympic level. I did try to write those moments with as much detail, and hopefully, visualation that I can manage. And I do know what you mean. I have such awe and respect for professional skaters. They make it look so simple, when I know it's not. Truly a thing of beauty.

Emmett didn't have a large role in this story, but where he does appear, I think he was fun. At least, I hope so.

There are only three more chapters to come now, so things should be wrapping up soon.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I'm so glad you like this one.

Thank you so much for this wonderful story.  It

 was just wonderful.

Since we are here.  I told you on my last feedback

about my own experiences on ice.  In time I did stop staking on my ankles, as I purchased a pair of

ankle braces and that did the trick. (Just in case

someone else is interested.)

Of course your description of Justin skating was

most enjoyable to me.  As I read it, I sat on the

edge of my chair hoping that Justin wouldn’t fall.

Well, happily he didn’t.  From my point of view,

Justin winning the Olympic was wonderful, but

the Brian/Justin relationship was already sealed.

Thanks again,

DavidR

Author's Response:

You are welcome. I'm so glad you enjoyed this story. It was different; in fact, I'm not sure I've ever read this premise before, but as a devout lover of figure skating I just had to write it.

There had probably never been a doubt that Justin would win the Olympics, but I wanted it to be as realistic as it could be, and some obstacles along the way. I am sure that Brian and Justin are heading to a full and happy life together - as it should be. :)

Thank you for reading and commenting. Again, I'm so glad you enjoyed this story...

Hi, thanks for the story. I liked it a lot.

Of  course the story is yours to do what you will with it. However I have a ‘slight’  problem with parts of it.  The  sex shop in Altooner reminds of a similar place in Philadelphia.  In your story, you described it negatively.  I don’t see as  that.  It was a good way and for many gay men to learn and experience.  At least I think so.   I wonder how many Altoona like places there were.

John was a tragic figure. A key to me was that there were several pictures of other men found in his studio.   The point being that John had many (some) other relationship with  other than Brian of similar age.    One could look at John as a predator.   I lost a little interest in him.

inally, the story ended with B/J having unprotected sex.  It was suggested that since Brian only had protected sex the last three month since he was tests he considered it Safe Sex.  That is not my understanding of Safe Sex.

Thanks again for the story.  It was  somewhat biographical for me at well.

Author's Response: Thanks for your review. I’m puzzled that you found my description of “Rumors” as negative. I’ve been to many gay bars (with back rooms) so I thought my description was sorta the average. Granted, it was a bit rundown, but it was a gathering place for local gay men. I admit…I’ve never been to Altoona. I was more observer than participant, but these bars were part of my evolution, too. I have also written a story with 11 chapters about Rumors and Brian’s relationship with the bartender/ owner…and the evolution of both the relationship and also the business. I hadn’t planned to post that story here because it is far outside the domain of QAF…but I thought Rumors was important enough to be the setting for the longest story I’ve ever written. (Brian helps build a dark maze that doubles the number of patrons and rescues the business from failure.)
