Another amazing chapter all the way around. And like the others, I have to wonder just how much Mel is hiding. I understand about her father not doing well, but... well, just the sudden urgency to move as far away from Canada as her money could buy is definitely sending up all kinds of red flags. Perhaps there is something to Gus' statement about Mel's trouble with clients in the past. Maybe she messed around and pissed off the wrong one?

Anyway, I do like the way Gus both set Brian at ease, and then set Jenny straight. In terms of Jenny: I think the scene really established that Gus wasn't going to allow her to make him choose between the sister he's had all her life, and the DNA-linked brother he's just beginning to know. I believe that kind of hard limit is going to come in handy very shortly, especially when Mel makes her presence known.

I have a feeling that Ian isn't going to be as calm in dealing with Melanie as he had been in the past. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes all verbal caveman on her. I can't wait to find out if I'm right!

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS,

LOVED this chapter! Strangely, I like the idea of Gus and Ian having charge over Jenny, even more than I like the idea of her being emancipated. She certainly needs to get the hell away from Mel! The fact that she was actually trying to use Gus to reinforce Jenny's thinking that she's disposable... well, there aren't many words that I can use to describe Mel and still keep my soul right! And then to basically preach 'conformity' to tjhe girl when all Mel's EVER done is try to stand out in her male-dominated career... Seriously someone needs to REVOKE her Career Dyke Feminism card ASAP! Just for that srong-armed attempt to violate Jenny's right to be an individual makes me glad she lost her job and is about to be disbarred in Canada. She's completely unethical!

Brian brought up a good point about Michael constantly living in the land of Make-Believe. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to know that Michael the Moocher is still alive and hell-on-wheels to deal with. No one can do doe-eyed innocence better than Michael could both on the show and in fanfic. It was interesting to read about how Deb stopped defending her baby, and began to look at the malicious little snot she birthed. It's too bad that it took her losing not only Ben, but Hunter in order for her to finally get a clue. I sooooo HOPE that someone will be able to answer the question of why Ben stopped coming around for Jenny, even if Ben doesn't appear at any point in the story. It will just drive the point home even more about how Michael plays puppet master while looking like he wouldn't hurt a fly. Bum-ass Bastard!

So glad that Ian mostly handled the situation with Melanie. I couldn't stop chuckiing and cheering all throughout that section. The way he kept putting her in her place, or silencing her altogether was so masterfully done! Not only that, but it wasn't hard to hear just how much she sounded like Michael, placing blame on everyone else but herself for her bad decisions. In dealing with her, and hearing excuse after excuse about why she was a bitch and an ineffective parent, I think it will give Ian a good idea of what to expect when he meets Michael, even though Evil Mickey Mouse will be much worse than dealing with Evilena.

I'm glad that Brian and Justin have the 'punch' time out in the open, and actually traced the parallels between Michael's manipulations (ie. the punch from Brian, to the comic, to Gus spewing Michael's thought almost verbatim). By getting it all out there, they are constantly taking away any ammunition that the Malicious MM Bitch Brigade can use against them. It's going to be interesting to see what happens when the formal announcement of B&J's impending nuptials is made public. In Mel's case, it's one thing to know it's happening, but another thing to see it in black and white, spelled out on plain English so that there are no misconceptions.

My-OH-MY the screeching to be heard! LOL

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS,

~Chelle

OMG! I can't wait for the bubble of self-delusion to burst all over Michael's ignorant head! He and David definitely deserve each other, and moreso they both DESERVE Mel! I hope that all three of them have their secrets exposed in the most public ways possible. It looks like Gus and Ian will need to file for custody a lot sooner than they expected. With two wolves (Mel and David) and a vulture by the name of Michael circling, Jenny is going to end up an asbolute emotional wreck!

You know it's a 'Bad Nik Day' when I'm actually applauding a Bully, and Thomas is most certainly that. But it's just Michael getting his just desserts since just the way he thought Brian had lowered himself to be with Justin (and said/implied so on more than one occasion), now he's understanding exactly what it's like to have to swallow the insult, grin and bear the brunt of it silently. But unfortunately in Michael's case, Thomas was absolutely CORRECT in all he said, while Michael was dead wrong in his opinions of Justin. Which is blatantly obvious by Justin's success, as opposed to Michael's uselessness as a human, much less a husband. I think someone should finally call David out for adopting his own trick, because that's exactly what Michael's Viagara-guzzling ass is... A TRICK THAT WOULDN'T GO AWAY!

The visit with Lindsay was both heartbreaking and hopeful! I'm glad that Deb made sure Lindsay knew she didn't want to do anything in that moment but love her. Emmett is absolutely adorable. I actually laughed aloud with the rest of them when Lindsay brought up the Wolfman! It was always one of my favorite 'side-note' scenes of the show. That and the Em/Carl scene at the refrigerator stick out as some of the most comical and uncomfortable scenes of the series to me.

I can't wait for the next chapter; this is all such O-M-GOODNESS!!

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS.

FANTASTIC CHAPTER!!! Michael's reaction was EVERYTHING I could have hoped for. And then Deb and the Diner's mercenary tactics in getting Michael to voice his venom in regards to his machinations, and finishing with the KICKER... that Deb tell Brian that David was a mistake. WHOO-HOO!!! I can't wait for all those posts the Gay Grapevine have going to reach David. Is it too much to hope that it's Thomas who gets the pleasure of spilling the beans?

Both David and Michael are already ruined in the court of public opinion... and now it's Mel's turn! I do believe bringing in Gabriel is an automatic WIN for Team Jenny. And with Ben and Hunter's testimony added to denote the vicious games she and Michael played with people's lives all in an effort to have control... well, let's just say that I don't feel the least bit sorry that Karma is coming for her pound of their financially broke asses!

**Waves hand in Glee** Goodbye CONTROL for all three of them; Goodbye CAREERS for David and Mel, Goodbye CASH COW for Michael and Mel,  and finally GOODBYE COMICS! The reality of Michael's continued hobby is defintely NOT looking bright. David just might have to sell the shop with ALL its contents, just to continue to have a place to live. I wonder what little Mr. Perfect Hank will have to say about all this.

OMG! I can't wait for the next chapter!

WRITE ON, StarBaby

An EXCELLENT chapter! I love the way the way the family is rallying to help Gus save Jenny from the idiocy of her parents. And Vermont is an absolutely PERFECT wedding venue for Brian and Justin!

Harry is going to be in for a rude awakening concerning Melanie when her lies of omission comes to the forefront. What's funny is that she really believes all of that mess in Canada is going to stay somewhat hidden if Gus takes her to court. She should know from personal experience, that while Gabriel might play fair, NO ONE stays squeaky clean in court.

As for Hank... I don't know how to feel about him, but I will be honest and say that I'm a bit torn because of how David and his grandfather have treated him in the past. It kind of puts a different perspective on his brattiness, and penchant for trouble. He really needs to find a way to make his life better in spite of living down to his father's expectations. And then when he makes good, I would love for David and his father to feel what it's like to be left behind by Hank. Perhaps the young man should talk to Hunter about how to make a parent regret their actions. Hunter is everything Michael and David never thought he would be. It would be a nice twist to making Michael go 'Linda Blair' LOL

And speaking of Dumb the First: What can I say except that Michael is once again setting himself up to be completely humiliated by living in his delusions. DUMBASS! I laughed out loud at Hank's assessment of Michael's brain capacity. Alone that drivel Michael spouted about writing the comic is grounds for having his ass permanently checked into a mental hospital. But then to actually continue to think that Brian is with Justin for charity, and that has any chance of even being considered a friend at this point... Star, please just have the fool jump from any bridge immediately. Perhaps as his bones are breaking due to hitting the water from that high up, his brain will actually begin to function correctly. Because right now, it's just painful to watch someone breathing constant stupidity.

Well, I'm off to torment him in one of my stories now. And apparently that goes for me, too, since I can't stop his screech and whine of 'Hey' in my psyche. I'm sooooooo looking forward to your next chapter.

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS,

Date: Oct 22, 2019 Title: Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Spectacular chapter!!!! First, let me just start off by saying- or more accurately, CUSSING- that Michael needed to be SMACKED SO HARD that he was physically sitting at the right hand of the Devil. That little mother ! And then he had the nerve to....LAWD HAM TURKEY I could have chewed bullets and shot every single one of them into the crack of his ass! Hopefully, whatever plan the family comes up with will be to Jenny's good, while getting that sorry excuse for a sack of bones out of their lives for good! That Dirty Mother-Shut-Yo-Mouth needs to piss off the RIGHT person so he can be outfitted for some cement boots! For real!

Anyway, moving on before I start sounding like I'm cussing on network tv again: I LOVED Jenny's talk with Gus and Ian. I appreciated how honest and open with her regarding Lindsay's condition and the resulting breakthrough. I believe that after being repeatedly lied to, and systematically emotionally abused by her so-called parents, she needed to be gifted with ALL of the information, even if some of it was theorized. At least, it all got her to thinking and being able to see the truth versus the fiction Mel and Michael had been spouting to her all her life. I also think that knowing Lindsay remembers her will go a long way in restoring Jenny's self-worth.

Next was the conversation between David and Gabriel... BRAVO, Baby! That was one helluva encounter and one I don't think David will forget anytime soon! First, his arrogance in thinking to discredit Hunter and the backpeddling, trying to come off as a concerned parent made me want to reach through the screen and snatch his larnyx out. I outright nodded my head and laughed in Gabriel's assessment of Sir Sanctimonious Snakeskin, as he picked apart David's true motives for not wanting Hunter and Jenny around. But I actually cheered aloud when Gabriel put the big PIN in the metaphorical revenge balloon David had been blowing. I'm so glad that Jennifer and the family had the forethought to hire him on Hunter's behalf. There's no doubt that David is desperate on so many levels that he would use anyone in his goal of self-preservation. Too bad for him that he didn't employ that same theory when he married his trophy. I would feel sorry for David but... Nah! My feelings just aren't set up that way! He deserves everything he gets- and that will ultimately be taken away- simply because he's a first-rate DUMBASS!

The situation with Hank actually broke my heart for so many reasons. His cries and pleas for attention has resulted in addiction, and yet his grandfather... WHOO CHILD! If that man were a RL person instead of a fictional character, I would have marched myself over there to smack him blind! It's no wonder Hank has always been angry; look at what he's had to endure at the hands of so-called family! Hopefully, Blake can help him and set him on the right road to recovery, so that he can design a life for himself. Sobriety is a lifelong journey, that begins with the will to reinvent yourself. I really hope he succeeds.

So looking forward to more and to the wedding fourteen years in the making. It's sure to be EPIC!

AMAZING chapter, StarBaby! If I write everything I'm feeling about it at this moment, I'll be here all day. So I'll just list the highlights from each scene and speak briefly about them.

  • The family dinner scene was absolutely wonderful. From Ben's reluctance to get out of the car, all the way through to the conversation about Michael, was long overdue. Patrick really is a testament to Brian and Justin's parenting skills. I really enjoy how 'normal' his interactions with everyone is.
  • Michael is the absolute DUMBEST imbecile alive! And Melanie isn't much better. When I'm with Brian...' I say let him keep playing FOOL to try to catch up to WISE. It's going to be great fun watching them both lose everything. Mel should just hand over custody now. And who knows, they might even be willing to pay her to fuck off so that she doesn't have a reason to ever darken their doorstep again. Ordinarily, I would never agree to something like that, but it seems a reasonable solution to the constant problem of money-hungry Mel since that's all she wants anyway in keeping custody of Jenny.
  • The visit to Lindsay was such a feel-good scene. I'm glad that she was having one of her good days, and seemed genuinely interested in Patrick's life. Her breakthroughs are definitely amazing and encouraging to behold.
  • Justin's interaction with Lucas was PRICELESS! First, Deb set the metaphorical fire to his ass, and then Justin extinguished it by not giving him an inch! I won't deny that I sat here cheering for Justin. The nerve of Lucas to think that WASP intimidation would work on Justin. He was born, bred and baptized in it; Lucas should have known better to even try. But all that aside, I'm glad that he's FINALLY ready to grow and change in the way he interacts with Hank. I'm also happy that he's ready to let David reap what he's sown when he married Mikey of the Man-child variety. Perhaps an old dog can indeed learn a new trick- one that David and Michael are in no way ready for- while rediscovering life outside of the WASP nest.
All in all, I can't wait for the next chapter!
HAPPY WRITING and HUGS, ~Chelle

Great chapter, StarBaby!

I really enjoyed this entire scene. Gus, Ian and Ben were so poised in the face of Carol's questions, and accurate about Melanie character and motivations. I'm so GLAD that Jenny will be staying with Gus and Ian! It's so obvious that between Melanie and Michael, they were continuing the systematic abuse that they began with Lindsay. Hopefully, Jenny will finally be able to restore her feelings of self-worth.

As for Melanie... yeah, I'm with Ian. I think Melanie really was playing a game with that explosion at the end. However, I can't and won't say that it wasn't enjoyable to the fullest. Am I wrong for wishing that she would just F-OFF to her parents' house in Florida for good? I mean, Gus and Ian are basically allowing her to still use Jenny as her mealticket even though she won't have physical custody of Jenny anymore, so is there really a reason for her to stay around any longer?

And what's going to happen when David finds that out? We already know that he feels he should no longer have to pay the child support out to Melanie since he's supposedly leaving Michael. So I wonder if there is any way he's going to be able to stop paying Melanie. Honestly, it would serve her right if he did! But at the same time, the fool needs to part with his money while not having Mel or Michael reap the benefits. Hmmm, quite the web of What-Ifs you've created here, Darling!

Looking forward to MORE!

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Summary:

I am writing this story, my first attempt at fanfiction, to avenge my voice for I have used it too many times to shout at my screen every time CowLip managed to screw their own story. In my opinion, for this is what it is, just my opinion, CowLip came up with great characters but failed in their development. I can't deny that their work was avant garde but I always wondered what would have happened if Brian wasn't so afraid of showing emotions. I changed a lot of things because I want to give the basic story a twist of my own and I hope you will like it.

For one of the twists, I got loosely inspired by "Can I come back home to you" and "And now we start on married life" by SammyScaDoo

I don't like Michael and Lindsay. They are the embodiment of parasites and I make it a duty to verbally beat down the Michael and Lindsay in the real world.

Some parts might remind you of something you have already read. As I can't remember every story I have ever read, and while I hope to limit myself to orginal ideas, apart from my disclosed inspiration, if I inadvertently borrow a storyline from anyone in the fandom, feel free to mentiion in the comments section and I'll make sure to give credit to the original author.

Loved, loved, LOVED Justin's interaction with Lindsay! It served her entitled ass right! But then here comes Brian and Mel following that 'SET YO' ASS DOWN' moment with the metaphorical one-two punch combo to the throat, which is bound to leave her speechless for a little while! YES! I can't even begin to express how much glee this chapter gave me. I'm especially looking forward to Lindsay discovering that Brian's 'trick' is much more than she ever bargained for. She must be angrier than a room full of hissing rattlesnakes that her attempt to use the baby's umbilical cord as a noose to tie around Brian's neck is NOT working as she thought it would. Damn greedy, selfish, egotistical HO-CAKE! I'm almost sure before she goes to bed, or at the very least, first thing in the morning, she'll be on the phone to Inspector Go-Go-Fuck-Himself to complain and whine that they are so obviously not the center of Brian's universe anymore. Let the fruitless plotting and planning COMMENCE!

Keep Going! This is FABULOUS <in my Emmett voice>

LMAO!!!!!! Yep, I'm sitting here laughing like a hyena that now Lindsay and Michael can't have ANY delusions left about just who Justin is. I have a feeling that baby or not, Lindsay is going to probably faint dead away because not only is Brian partnered with someone who is extremely talented and well-off, but because of the reality of her 'Trap Brian' game has officially been lost.

As for the Screech-mobile, well I could imagine that he will be depressed for days. Maybe even enough to give the Avenue's eardrums a much needed, and well-deserved break from his voice and presence.

Good! Michael got busted in his lies and deeds! I'll bet he has a hard time explaining away the fact that he messed with Brian's phone to Ben and Debbie. Deb should have smacked him so hard that fire shot out of his ears! Immature Imbecile!

Anyway, I'm glad that they are taking steps to solidify their family bonds in all ways. Who knows what other foolishness Michael will try to split Brian and Justin up. Not only that but with the Petersons still around, there's no telling what they might do. Oh, there are just so many directions this can still take, including finding out what really happened to Mel and JR. Is it too much to hope that Michael might be involved in some way? Or at least, know more than his mealy-mouth is saying?

Honestly, I don't put anything past the little weasel, who is only known to keep a secret if it in someway benefits him. In this case, not technically having the responsibility of his daughter to upset his new lifestyle in favor of enforced parenthood might be as big an incentive to keep quiet than anything else. Just speculating...

I really loved this! I'm sitting here in the middle of the night reading it when I should be writing, but... I can't deny that I breathed several sighs of relief and 'Aww' during my time with this story. I also had moments of intense anger at Michael and Lindsay; Michael most of all. I absolutely LOVED Marilyn and Wanda during this, each knowing that what Michael wanted most was going to lead him down a dark road. And now the little militant midget will be in jail, while Brian and Justin prepare themselves for a happy life without interference from the 'family'. well-meaning or otherwise.

From all of the emotions conveyed to the end results, this was truly an AMAZING read!

Great start to what is proving to be a pretty angsty fic. Hopefully, Justin will be able to get his story out with Brian corroborating the truth, and Ethan will be arrested for assault. Between him and Michael, they both need to be as far away from Brian and Justin as possible. And why do I get the feeling that Michael is more involved in what Ethan thinks he knows about Justin than is being let on. The fact that Ethan called him a whore and said that he wasn't going to put up with Justin's bullshit the way Brian supposedly did has Michael's normally spewed animosity written all over it, where Brian is the victim of Justin's machinations.

I can't wait to see where you take this, and how you get the both of them out of this mess.

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Author's Response: It's a bit angsty, but you know me I'm all about the love. Michael has a public smack-down coming, but surprisingly it's not from Brian or Justin. Hugs Sweetheart ~ Kathleen

YAYYYYY For Carl and Ted!! I absolutely LOVE the fact that Brian changed his POA. Michael shouldn't be allowed near a damn cactus, let alone Brian! Such an idiot!

I'm glad that Brian and Justin were finally able to tell their sides of the story to Officer Strickland. Justin's firsthand account and Brian's knowledge of Ethan's continual abuse should go a long way in convicting the Chin Rat. And then for Ethan in his arrogance to almost-boast about what he'd done... All I can say is CLINK-CLINK! Looks like he can kiss his fabled music career GOODBYE.

I'm sooooo looking forward to the next update.

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS,

Nichelle

P.S. Email me the banner and pics, telling me where you want them to go. I'm not sure why you're having trouble loading everything but I'll do it as soon as I can.

Author's Response: Now that Justin's set the record straight, and Ethan's stupidly confirmed it. He'll be getting a pretty set of bracelets soon, and a ride in the patty wagon. I'm thinking I may have too many pics uploaded, when I upload a pic or banner I just get a blank yellow screen. I'll send you the pics tomorrow when I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed... Later Sweetheart ~ Kathleen

So GLAD that Michael was caught up in all of his lies! Everyone now knows not to believe a single word that comes out of his vindictive mouth. My only regret is that Brian and Justin don't know as of yet what Michael has been saying, and haven't killed his comic book dreams. But alas, I am still content that he has been publicly humiliated along with Deb being put masterfully in her place by Jennifer. It's about time someone did that!

As for Ethan, is it wrong that I actually laughed out loud at his plight. First finding out that he can no longer play his bloody violin, then that he is being carted off to jail was magnificient. But then you went and gave him the big ol' HEAVE-HO from his parents. Even if I don't agree with their reasoning for disowning him, it's still gratifying to know that he is going to be totally ALONE, the same way he intended for Justin to be. Jail should be a really interesting place for him, especially with that incessant whine he has.

And lastly, Brian and Justin together, happy and healing is just the icing on the cake for me. I enjoyed this short story so very MUCH, Kathleen. Thank you for writing it!

HUGS and LOVE,

~Nichelle

Author's Response: You'd think by now that the boys on the Avenue would know not to listen to Michael. But I understand that it's hard to resist wanting to get the scoop and Brian and Justin. Double smack down for the Novotnys, is was a long time coming and it felt so good to write. No, you can't help feeling satisfied learning the the chin-rat finally got his due. I wonder how he'll like the welcoming committee at the Allegheny prison? Let's hear for the boys! ha, ha, ha... Now you won't be able to get that song out of your head... Hugs Sweetheart ~ Kathleen

Summary:

Brian’s thoughts, and emotions during the greatest unification since Germany. Imagine the song Cha Cha is playing in the background.

Absolute perfection, Kathleen! You are such a GEM when it comes to picking scenes apart... I'm still trying to get to your level! Every word written is so emotive, and calls the scene directly to mind. It's a wonderful gift to have!

That said, the very beginning of episode 309- known as the "Greatest Reunification Since Germany"- is my most FAVORITE scene of the entire series. In addition, there are 5 songs that I play daily that are a MUST in my life, and "VIVA COLUMBIA (ChaCha)" is one of them! So to set their entire journey back to the B/J: The Legend Continues stage using the beginning of this particular track is purrre genius! From now on, even while dancing around to this song before I sit down to write for the long day ahead, I will think of this.

HUGS and LOVE,

~Nichelle

Author's Response: Thanks Darling! This is my favorite episode, and it was the first episode I ever watched of QAF. That kiss was all it took to hook me on the show, and it still makes me swoon... Hugs Sweetheart ~ Kathleen

Hey Cathy,

Excellent job on this! I'm sooooooooo VERY PROUD of you! Admittedly, and from my own experience of crafting courtroom dramas, this is a really tough premise and shows that you are willing to stretch your writing chops a bit further. I just know that you will knock this out of the park; no question!

As for the chapter itself, all i can hear in my head is: DUN, DUN, DUN, DUN, DUHHHHHHHHNNNNNN!!!! Because whereas no one else might know of Brian's limited history with Justin Taylor, there is that Lip-licking Lizard named Michael Novotny who will undoubtedly remember the kid who Brian left him on the side of the road for. Not only that, but he got a second and third look, both at the hospital and afterwards when he was taking Brian home. One has to wonder just how vindictive the man with Little Man Syndrome will be, especially considering the nature of the trial itself.

Could he be looking at this as a simple case of Karma for Michael not being chosen to grace Brian's bed? Could this be an opportunity for him to look at this as revenge because Brian dared to ask Justin what he thought of Gus' name, instead of his stalwart sentinel with the squesky voice? Okay I have to stop now because seriously, I have the horrible announcer's voice in my head as if I'm watching the end of a cartoon with a cliffhanger. In fact, I'll be damned if the words 'Tune in Next Time' didn't just enter my psyche... ARGH! SMH!

Really, Cathy, at this point is it too much to ask that SIR STUPIDHERO doesn't get selected as a juror at all? I mean, I know it will probably rev up the angst factor BUT... And LAWD, HAM, TURKEY AND GRITS, I cringed every single time his childlike enthusiasm for jury duty was displayed! But even moreso, I wanted to smack the sense God gave a can of peas into him for asking those clingy ass questions of where Brian was when he didn't arrive at Woody's and Babylon. I mean, seriously Dude, find a life!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to how you are going to spin this. So far, you have weaved one helluva web; it's absolutely impossible NOT to want to read more!

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS,

~Nichelle
