Another QAF fractured fairy tale!

This time we're bastardizing....uhhh I mean this is a rough version of The Shoemaker and the Elves.

Kind of a what if story....what if things didn't go so well starting up Kinnetic? Keeping with the rules and to avoid the whole nasty statutory rape thing let's just say Justin is 18.

Another fairy tale from my warped brain!   Enjoy!!!

Bwahaha, the end!!! If I only had 2 minutes I will feel sorry for Vance, but nah, I don't have time for this mean person.

Regarding New York, they said no to Lindsay, but who knows, there are maybe shoemakers who will be happy to work with Kinnetic as well. Hin Hint :)

Whoa! What a punch in the guts! Brian must feel really bad to contact Justin so long after their last meeting. I was afraid of very bad news and that Brian would ask Justin if he would be OK to take care of Gus. The end is promising though. Too bad it's a one shot, it would have been interesting to see how it goes.

not so bad

Excellent! Brian and a puppy!!! That's hilarious! He dared damaging a door so the puppy could go outside: that's pretty amazing. Molly and her cursing is also really funny.

Brian and Jennifer: I love how their relationship has become.

Justin and Tucker: that not hilarious though; I understand Justin's POV, but he should see that Jennifer is happy and after what she had to live with Craig, she should be allowed to get a nice and loving partner.

Summary:

What happens when Brian is summoned for jury duty, only to find out, it’s in regard to a kid he slept with nine months prior?

This story is on an indefinite hiatus.

Very interesting plot! I hope Michael won't stay as he may recognize Justin and not be impartial as he should be.

Perfect by TrueIllusion Rated: YA starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 9]
Summary:

Everything was perfect.

Brian and I were finally together in New York, making both of our dreams come true. I was working from a spacious, comfortable studio in SoHo, and the first show of my return to the city was scheduled for the following weekend. Brian was out with a real estate broker, looking at potential office spaces for the soon-to-be New York expansion of Kinnetik. We had wedding rings on our fingers, having finally tied the knot a few years before, in front of all of our family and friends in Pittsburgh.

Our lives were full of new and exciting opportunities, both professionally and personally. I felt like everything was falling into place in a nice, neat, orderly fashion, one piece after another.

Then, I had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And the puzzle that was my life -- so carefully and painstakingly assembled over the years -- was picked up and thrown to the ground, scattering the pieces everywhere.

And everything wasn’t so perfect anymore.

Beautiful, but very scaring. I'm almost happy that it's a one shot, otherwise my tension would have been very high. Fortunately, Jane was there and knew what to do, how to help.

Author's Response:

Anxiety attacks are definitely very scary...and writing one in first person point of view was very interesting to do. That said, I *am* entertaining the idea of a follow-up, picking up as Justin continues preparing for his show with this new wrench thrown into his plans...

Summary:

Brian and Justin head off to the courthouse to finish off a long-standing issue.

So happy to see a new part!

The mood seems not as joyful as usual. Joan's death is still present in Brian and Bree's mind. On the other hand, Michael going back home is a positive sign.

Always interesting reading the reactions of the recipients of Bree's invitation. Craig is still such a jerk!

Will Brian tell Justin his encounter with the flirty woman?

Brian hasn't lost his blunt repartee, but he is so tender with Bree when he feels she is not well. I love the way he explained that she should have fun and not feel guilty about it.

So happy to read Emmett's "Helloooo" again.

Briana may be a little manipulative, but she also is very attentive to her family, especially her Dada; she must feel that this birthday is special. If Gus is able to come, the whole core will be present and the birthday may pass without too much angst.

Briana made me laugh once more with her “Dada, can I get a job at Kinnetik?”. Glad I wasn't drinking!

And the end is also very funny "Brian nearly dropped the hamburger he was flipping. He opened his mouth to say something, but couldn’t think of what to say. Where was Justin when you needed him?".

It was a great idea from Justin to ask/demand that the gang not to invade the cottage during the D-day. This allowed the close family to celebrate the un-birthday quietly. Even Emmett respected Brian's sleep.

The B&B is a really good idea for the gang's reunions.

Thank you for the update! I have been reading this saga from the beginning once more as I can't get enough of it.

Briana is making me laugh with her "I hafta make my cake"!

So, I was completely wrong about the sender of the un-birthday gifts. I thought only Ted would be daring sending this kind of reminder as he was older than Brian and could know what little trouble age could bring.

Great idea to make the yellow cake: once more it shows how Bree is conscious of what Brian feels.

Summary:

When you're married to Brian Kinney, you learn to expect surprises.

Wonderful and positive story: Brian's "non romantic" mantra is long gone and it's the best remedy to Justin's state of mind (ours as well!). Brian went over the top with this so much needed escape. The plane, the house, the beach, the location, ...

There are too many great things that I won't be able to list them all.

The part where he was suffering almost "killed" the mood, but Justin found a way to be there and not too close.

The end is beautiful: I can see Justin struggling and then, jumping and taking a leap of faith. They are so tuned with each other, it's amazing.

What is also amazing is the fact that Brian is seriously considering doing less for Kinnetik and this is as unexpected and needed.

Great job!!!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! <3 I love to imagine Brian and Justin all "grown up," at this point in their lives, where they've learned their lessons (many the hard way) and have grown and changed into the people they were always meant to be, that they weren't quite sure they could be. This is a bit of "mood" story, in that I sat down and wrote whatever I felt like writing at the time... be that romance, or hurt/comfort. I also loved writing them taking that leap of faith together...just like they have more than once in life, and will continue to do. As for slowing down, the events of "Not Like You" were a bit of a wake-up call for Brian, and he's found himself now wanting to soak in every single moment. :)

Summary:

The next generation faces the future.

Yeah! Another part!!! Thank you for updating so quickly!

Claire doesn't remember well how Brian helped her and her kids: she should know better and be more considerate of her brother. I agree with Brian, you don't check a house after buying it; what could they do if there is anything not OK?

It's great that Brian and Ben are still getting together from time to time.

I don't know why, but I feel that John might get a surprise with his new project; I don't like how Mary is behaving. They could have kept it in the family with Jenifer as well.
