Summary:

It’s funny how life works sometimes -- in cycles, repeating the same themes in different ways with different situations. Leaving it up to us to recognize a familiar situation and call on our past experience to get through it. But sometimes you can’t see the forest for the trees.

Justin decides to make a huge transition in his career, but things are not always what they seem.

Great update.  The pain that both of them are feeling is very palpable.  Great writing.  I know that writing an emotional story is hard and takes a lot of effort on the writer's part.  As a reader, I appreciate the update.

Author's Response:

Thank you <3 This was an extremely difficult chapter to write because it was so emotional. I needed to be in the right headspace to do it, and that took a bit of time. And I still left it with a lot of tears shed, and a headache. But I'm pleased with how it turned out, and that it seems I've conveyed what I intended.

Maybe they will both learn that marriage is a partnership and that no matter what is going on with you, you need to pay attention to your partner.  Also, one partner should never feel that they are a burden to the other.  Great connection between the two men- you could feel the emotion.

Author's Response:

This was a HUGE wakeup call for both of them...HUGE. So, worry not, they've definitely had more than a few realizations about marriage and partnership...particularly Brian, whose demons have left him feeling like a burden for much of his life. Like he doesn't deserve to not feel that way. Of course, we know otherwise, but that's something that will always linger for him a little bit, I think. So glad you enjoyed the chapter! :)

Brian is struggling with letting Justin make his own decisions.  I understand his reluctance as his allowing Justin to make his own decisions was the very thing that allowed Justin to plunge into Depression while his partner made multiple excuses.  Brian is at least aware of the difficulties of hte situation and I'm pleased to see he was able distract himself enough.  Love the last line of the chapter.

Author's Response:

Brian standing back now is a lot different from the way he stood back as Justin was falling deeper into depression, I think. He's still being mindful of the situation, but he knows he has to let Justin lead the way here. And for control-freak Brian, that's big. ;) So glad you loved the last line! <3

Summary:

Early in season two, after a row with Justin, Brian mulls over their relationship and considers what to do to keep the boy around. A subsequent conversation with Debbie, which goes a little differently than in canon, propels him to act immediately. Steaminess ensues.

Loved the ending -  Brian not running for the hills at Justin's words.

Author's Response:

I'm thrilled you liked the ending, Sandy! :) Brian has realized he can put his trust in Justin - and in his love for him. It doesn't get any better than that for Brian. :)

Thanks for leaving a comment; it's much appreciated.

I was waiting until this was finished before starting it.  So far, so good.  Interesting premise- Justin reading Brian or not reading him as the case may be.  He was always on to him in canon, so it should be very interesting how he handles the man he can't read in this story.

Author's Response:

Yay! I'm excited to hear what you think. But it will be quite different having a Justin that CAN'T read Brian at all. Happy Reading! TAG

SYNOPSIS:

Michael returns from Portland as a man on a mission. How is he going to respond when he finds out just how much things have changed? And will he finally figure out that it’s time to design his own life, instead of trying to plan Brian’s?

It’s decision time… and not only for Michael.

Again, a MAJOR shoutout goes to Lorie, who is helping me to endure the Committee of Whine and Coo at constant war in my head. And also to Cathy Sunderland (BritinManor) and Deb Tanner for the bunnies that is inspiring the continuation of this series. All of you ladies are AAAAaaa-MAZING!

*COMPLETE*

HAPPY READING, Y'ALL!

Michael is such a whiney person-  I won't call him an adult since he is only an adult in age, not actions.  I just absolutely love the talk between Em and Daphne-  their solution is priceless.  Michael feels so entitiled and he really is not entitled to anything.  He really should grow up but won't

Great chapter.  I like Vic.  I have always felt he was a great character and had such wisdom but due to his age, he wasn't a focus.  I like his ideas for Mel.  She should take LIndsay and make notes- then take them to the court.

So typical of Michael to try and pin everything bad that happens on Brian so that he will bail him out.  Michael is such a toad, jsut as Cynthia said.  I don't even need to be a fly on the wall at Deb's house to hear Michael whining.

I like that Mel and Brian are finally not at each other's throats and being suppportive for Gus.

Go Daphne.  Daphne is not afraid of Deb and even if she did not own part of the diner, I don't see her backing down either.  Emmett is great for standing up to her as well.  AS for Lindsay, she better realize that her manipulations are all backfiring as she is a bad player.  She thinks that her moves will result in set responses and doesn't give any credit to the players thinking about what is best for themselves.  I can't wait till she realizes they are married.

great update,  I love the way Brian just announced to everyone that they were married.  Justin kicking Craig out of the business and his mother ( grandmother) supporting him are just great too.  I always love all the twist and turns you put into your stories.

thanks for fixing the chapter.  I came home tonight and am reading the story again.  yeah.  I love this story.  The mystery and intrigue.  I hope they find Brinn and she realized that going away with her mom is not the answer.  Hopefully Justin will allow her to have a relationship with her. Taking her across to mexico may not be the best idea, but then Dan can retrieve her.

Summary:

This is the final story in the Double Trouble Trilogy.  It picks up about 6 years after 'Graduation' ends.  JR is happily married to husband Noah and pregnant with her first child... the first Grandchild for Brian and Justin.  Gus is also happily married to husband Jason.  This couple wants nothing more than to also make Brian and Justin Grandparents, but it has not been as easy for them.  Then, out of nowhere, someone from Gus and JR's Canadian past comes back into their lives and may be the solution that Gus and Jason have been praying for.

I wish to thank once again the lovely Nikki for her wonderful banner, and my dear friend, Judy, for her terrific beta skills.

Author's Response:

What wonderful comments, Sfscarlet.  A dozen years ago, I never thought that this story would grow as it did, but I enjoyed writing about Brian and Justin being Gus and JR's parents so much that I had to let it continue.  I can't thank you enough for sticking with this series, despite the length of time it took me to complete it.  I am very grateful for your support.  Huge hugs, Grammy

Summary:

Happy Holidays everyone.  I have an early Christmas gift for you, and I hope you will enjoy it.  This story is set a little over ten years after Justin headed off for New York City, leaving Pittsburgh behind.  It seems that his plan didn't last long, and a decade later he is happily married to Brian.  The only fly in the ointment of their happiness is how much Brian misses seeing his son, Gus far more often than the occasional visits back and forth to Canada.  Justin's dearest wish is to arrange for Brian to receive the best Christmas gift ever, and he is willing to do whatever he can to make that happen
