AU after Season 4. The year Justin turns 23, he and Brian get the news that over the next year he's going to gradually lose all of his hearing. The series tracks the next years of their life as they manage their new reality, after-effects of the bashing, their eventual move to New York, and their ever-evolving relationship. Told in first-person chapters from their points of view and some outsiders, with some angst, a lot of hurt/comfort, and loads of humor. Never any big relationship drama, always disability-positive, and no one ever takes themselves too seriously.

Although not conventional, how could our boys ever be that, Brian found the right way for them to both be fulfilled in their relationship. No matter what, their true love and understanding of each other's needs shines through and it totally works for them, so the Pittsburgh crew will just have to get over themselves. Brian without Cynthia at his beck and call is the more terrifying prospect lol.
Can't wait to see what you have for us next. At times this was a difficult, sad and stressful read but the happy times and wonderful dedication to bringing these characters to life, sometimes larger than life, made this story totally worthwhile. I absolutely loved it :-)

Brian just took a page out of his Sunshine's book - if in doubt walk on out :-( Tough road ahead for our boys I'm thinking. This is such a good story and as someone living with a young son who suffers from depression and anxiety, I really can relate to all you have written so far, and appreciate the compassion you are showing.
