I think this may be one of my favourite chapters, even though it did make me mad on SO many levels. Firstly, you don't just take someone's kid while they're sleeping. Even if you are their grandma or your intentions are good... Secondly - THAT BOOK... that was no coincidence, she truly believes that Lily is missing out on something because she doesn't have a mom. I hated how she asked Lily that and referred to Brian by his name, and not Daddy when talking to the small child.
Eric's dad, bless him. I think he loves his son, but seeing his wife so upset put him in a difficult position. I do think he wants to try. At least, I hope he does.
Lily playing celebrity rehab with her toys was literally one of the funniest Lily moments. I could totally see her doing that and Emmett being all WHOOPS about it lol.
I'm glad Eric has Amanda. He needs someone on his side (blood family, I mean, obvs he has Brian) and omg, Lily's reaction after his mom asks about missing out on having a woman in the house... how she wanted to go with Eric, even though he was just going upstairs. It's like, who was she comforting, herself or her papa???
AND THEN BRIAN <3 Yay that he surprised them. Eric needs him right now. And look how happy Lily was to see her daddy :) Watch out, Louisa :p

I love Malcolm, like I think I awww'd so much during this, it's like, Justin - he likes you, man. And he'd totally look after you and the baby, LET HIM.
I loved the hammock scene -- especially Brian teasing Justin about how Eric would stop talking to him if he caught them, little shit that he is LOL.
I seriously could read this without any of the cast being in it and it being all LIly and Duncan (and the rats) LOL

I read the first chapter again last night and I couldn't remember how this ended, but I woke up today and it came back to me. I loved this story, it was so sad but also beautiful. It was lovely seeing happy and innocent Brian. I wish you had continued this or written an epilogue. I have so many questions. How was Brian and Gus's reunion? Was Lindsey a bitch and did she talk down to him? Did the rhyming ever get better or was it always there? What did they do for money, could Brian go back to work? He's probably too nice to be an ad man now :)

I don't think I'll ever do a sequel to this one - it's just so perfect as is. But, to answer all your questions . . . Justin has lots of money afterwards from suing the hospital and his parents, so he's good until he gets done with art school and starts into a successful career doing something arty. Brian recovers some but he never will be the same Stud as before. The rhyming/clanging stays, sorta, but as his doctor pointed out, it's more his way of hiding from stress than true clanging by the point the story ends. He uses it as a crutch, although I imagine that gets better too once he's happily settled with Justin. In my mind, Brian probably uses that way with words to make a living writing in the future. The reunion with Gus goes great, and Brian eventually gets joint custody. Brian never forgives either Michael or Lindsey, though. But otherwise, they live happily ever after. Hope that helps.
