This story is a prequel gap filler.  It is my version of what Brian and Justin were thinking in the days leading up to that fateful meeting under the street light and what they were thinking when they met.  I want to thank Eka for the lovely banner and Pat for her beta work. 

This is a beautifully written story set in 1944, featuring Brian and Justin as gay soldiers in WWII serving in occupied France. One of my favorite stories from this amazing author - Lorie

It is the Winter of 1944 in occupied France. The allies have landed and slowly, so slowly, made their attempt to push to the borders of Germany. Sergeant Brian Kinney is too busy trying to keep his men alive and do his duty to worry about anything else, much less a personal life. Everything changes one day when one of his men, recently killed in an ambush, is replaced with a raw new recruit, Private Justin Taylor. The kid looks like he's barely out of High School and totally wet behind the ears. The Sarge is not happy, especially when without warning Sergeant Kinney finds himself fighting a different kind of war than the one on the battlefield.

I am dedicating this story to my late father who served bravely and honorably in WWII and the Vietnam War. I am also dedicating this story to all the GLBT men and women who also served with honor, but in silence throughout history. Many thanks go to the amazing Eka for her brilliant banner and to my friend Pat for her beta skills. 

The setting is post Season 5 by several months. Brian has developed a unique problem that he has only faced one other time. He turns to the psychologist who helped him with Justin's problem after the bashing in hopes of finding a solution. Will the good Doctor figure out the puzzle that is confronting Brian and help him solve it? I dedicate this to Lori, who had been a blessing in my present chaotic life and given me much needed incentive to get back to my writing. I, like so many, was not at all happy with how the QAF series ended.  So here is my version of how it could have happened after the last scene.  I owe a debt of gratitude to Eka for my lovely banner and Heather for her wonderful beta work. 

I have something a little different from my usual romantic story for you.  This is a What If story.  What If Justin did not meet Brian during his Senior year.  What if he was bashed for a different reason.  Do you remember that one moment in the show when Justin wished he had died from the bashing...when he lost it and pushed his mother down?  What if those suicidal thoughts went further, but a guardian angel steps in to give him a glimpse of what he will miss if he dies?  Will it be enough for our young man to fight for his life?  Or is it too late to change his destiny?  This story is unbeta'd at the moment because my beta is off to see Randy in the Berkshires.  That is more important.  LOL!  Corrections will be made when she has more time.  The banner is again by my talented Granddaughter, Marika.  Enjoy!

The year is 2107.  Planet Earth has run out of space for its inhabitants so colonization of other planets and the Moon has been set up.  Brian Kinney, an executive of Lunar Industries on the Moon is about to receive a new intern in his graphics department, a young man named Justin Taylor.  Will this new intern change Brian's life forever, and what happens when the past comes back to haunt young Taylor?  I want to thank Eka for the beautiful banner and Heather for being my beta throughout this story. 

Jack has the misfortune of being sent to 'Hell' by a man wielding an artifact that has come through the Rift. However, Ianto and the team manage to save the day, and Jack, but all is not well upon his return and secrets abound. Is honesty truly always the best policy?

This is where my mind decided Jack & Ianto's 1st time takes place, at the conclusion of 'Meat'.

Jack has gotten greedy and raided Ianto's obviously not-so-secret hiding spot in the kitchenette. This is not the first time and Ianto has finally had enough and intends that Jack learn his lesson.

The story told from both Brian and Justin's POV during the "King of Babylon" contest and through to the next morning.

Brian and Justin decide to take a nice long weekend getaway at their lake retreat...just the two of them.  As usual with our lovers, things don't go quite as planned.  Many thanks to Eka for my lovely banner and Pat for beta work.

I have a new short story for my wonderful readers.  My inspiration comes from the fact that we never got to see Justin joining Brian on that famous charity bike ride.  There were so many possibilities for such an adventure for the two of them.  This story is set Post Season 5, a few years later.  I hope you will enjoy the vacation as much as our boys have.  My deepest gratitude to my wonderful beta, Judy and my darling banner maker, Marika for their help with the story.
