Brian Kinney, the son of a hotel mogul, is living a double life. Married to spoiled socialite Lindsay, Brian enjoys spending his evenings in South Beach gay bars cruising for younger men. One night, the closeted business man meets recently-out Justin Taylor. Little does Brian know, his life will never be the same again.

Justin has grown up in a very different household than seen in canon. He is living on the streets when he is found by the Liberty Diner gang and is rescued - malnourished, exhausted and ill - and taken home by Brian. Can Justin be brought out of this hell he's been resigned to by his hateful father? Can Brian find the one thing that will make Justin whole again?

This story is based on a prior fic - 'Smolder' - by LovelessSouls.  All credit for the haunting story premise goes to the original author, as well as my thanks for letting me repost the first two chapters of that story.

The night Justin is released from the hospital, Brian is so overwhelmed with guilt that he goes on his most destructive bender yet, OD’ing on a combination of club drugs that literally fry his brain. While Brian is struggling with his own mental health issues, Justin feels abandoned and slips into depression. This story is about what happens when a fortuitous event reunites the two several years later.

I chose this story because it is not your typical Brian and Justin story. Also it deals with a subject that is very important to me. I lost a friend due to the lack of a donor -Lorie

Life has always been a constant struggle for eighteen year-old Justin Taylor, until one fateful day at the diner when he meets the man known as the Stud of Liberty Avenue, Brian Kinney. Both of their lives are changed forever in a way that neither of them ever anticipated.

You'd think it was a Christmas fic wouldn't you? If that's what you're looking for - best to just move on - ‘cause there is no Santa here...

...instead, what we really have is a series of snippets in which our favorite QAF characters happen to overhear the boys in the throes of passion - and can hardly believe their ears...

Some canon - some definitely not - some that could be - with timelines that work  for this story - all showing a ‘depth of love' that is only Brian/Justin - and for me, will always be!

Justin has been back from New York for a week and in that time the "family" just wouldn't leave him and Brian alone to enjoy their reunion. There have been countless calls demanding Brian produce Sunshine, unannounced visits and several walk-ins performed by Michael, of course.

On one such evening, as Brian and Justin are in the middle of foreplay, Michael barges in and without regard to what he interrupted demands that they join him and the guys for a night out at Woody's. When Emmett suggests a "couple's pool game," Brian and Justin have to decide if the stakes are too high -- Freedom from Family vs. Learning to Share. Who will win the Tawdry Tournament?

The first episode of season 3 was unbelievably off the mark for me - and for so many reasons.

First, Justin made the biggest mistake of his life by choosing Ethan over Brian, showing just how far he had strayed from the ability he once had to read the man who had thrown away his rule book, and was scrambling to write a new one as he went along.

Worse still, in my book however, is that while Brian had plenty to answer for to Justin regarding his behavior, it was his family that once again blamed Brian for all the wrongs in the world, never once considering the fact that hitting Michael was so far out of character for Brian that something really huge must have triggered it.

Once again the golden child could do no wrong, only Brian knowing how far out of line his so-called best friend's comments about Justin had been, and everyone quickly rallied around Michael with love and support, while directing nothing but anger and disgust at the one man who had always been there to pick up all the pieces in their lives.

High school senior Justin Taylor has two passions in life: literature and Brian Kinney. Unfortunately for Justin, Mr. Kinney happens to be his English teacher at St. James Academy, making their relationship even more forbidden than Romeo and Juliet’s. After signing up as stage manager for the school’s holiday play, which Mr. Kinney is directing, Justin learns that his teacher’s life is more tragic than anything Shakespeare ever wrote. 

Justin returns from New York City for the weekend only to find that Brian hasn't been shaving lately. What will the horny blond think of Brian's scruff?
