Here I go with my first multi-chaptered story in over 3 years.  I really hope you will enjoy it.  Some time ago someone suggested the idea of turning around the series plot involving the Prom bashing 180 degrees, and then seeing what might have happened if it was Brian who was Hobbs' victim rather than Justin.  I found the idea intriguing, so I'm going with it.  Of course there will be drama and angst, but just remember how my stories end up and take heart.  So without delay, here is the beginning of a whole new light on the love story of Brian and Justin.  

But first, of course, I must give my undying appreciation to my dear Judy for her beta help.  And a special appreciation to the very talented and thoughtful Kim for the evocative banner for my story.  I love you girls dearly.

Brian is an Art Critic for the Sun Times, who has obsessive compulsive disorder. Justin is a well-known, yet lonely artist. For six years, Brian has written words regarding Justin's work for the paper. Justin feels that the words the critic wrote were as though he had painted his paintings himself and knew each piece as he himself knew them. For six years, Brian is too shy to ask for an interview, much to his boss' annoyance. Due to the way Brian dresses…in clothes from Wal-Mart with the exception of his sports jerseys, Justin assumes the man is straight, though he secretly keeps a scrapbook and sketchbook devoted to the man. What happens when Brian's boss draws the line and insists that Brian conduct a one on one interview with Justin Taylor?

Brian asked Justin a very important question when the "Changed" series concluded. What will his answer be? Where will they go from here?

What if Brian agreed to the unthinkable and offered to start a family with Justin . . . and then it all went to hell? Set post series. 

Brian and Justin have been together for seventeen years, well, more or less: seventeen years have passed since the night of their meeting, the one in which Gus, the son of Brian and his friend Lindsey, was born and since then they have been on and off regularly.

Gus, however, is willing to do anything for his relationship to be as smooth as silk, but he has just moved to Pittsburgh and the only thing he is sure of is that life is a mess and this, in essence, is the only thing on which father and son agree.

Justin hates being dependent on Brian and asking for money. Will his solution this time be a better one than dancing at Sap's?

Ever wish you could be in two places at once? So did Brian Kinney. What with the demands from his new boss, the 'needs' of his "family" and his desire to spend time in his Sunshine, in the snowy vistas of Vermont, the Stud was about to lose it. Enter Doc Alex with an intriguing proposistion.

But there is a reason the age old adage 'be careful what you wish for' is so cliched.

When Brian wins big on the lottery he and Michael take off for 2 years. Upon their return, Debs is delighted, not only are her boys back but they are finally a couple...but only according to Michael. What he thought has been a dream adventure has been a litany of moaning, complaining and bitching for Brian, so bad did it get that he cut the trip short! Now he's back and needs something to do...Ted and Emmett find him something to do during the day and his passion for photography finds him something do at night...oh and there's the little matter of Lindsay...she wants a baby and wants Brian to play daddy, or should that be Daddy Warbucks, but does Mel want to play mommy still?

Justin's life is spent alone, only being sought out for his mind, and Brian for his body. Only Justin sees past the party boy to the man Brian really is. Justin can’t relate to people or why they do things and lives a solitary life because of it. He watches Brian, only because Brian quiets the mind he can't shut off. Brian watches Justin, not understanding why he needs to know more about Justin. 

Justin and Brian meet while Justin works for him. Brian ends up continuing to see Justin after and wants more than the occassional hook-up.
