Since this is the very first time I've read this sequel, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of angst and suspense.
I loved it when Brandon realized he was trapped when he got downstairs. His pleading and promises of leaving Pittsburgh, I was like - Sure you will. And they know how to kill any others that may come along and want to destroy them.
I loved Brian's vow at the end:
"I love you so fucking much my beautiful warlock. Forever will never be long enough. However, it makes an excellent starting point."

There was certainly some high drama in this story. I think this story was just my inability to say goodbye to these characters at the end of the first story. Brandon certainly fit the bill for what I was trying to do here.
Brandon was doomed from the beginning. There was no way he could be allowed to simply run away.
I'm glad you enjoyed this sequel, Cathy. I really enjoyed writing it and spending more time with them in this 'verse.

Sorry for the lateness in reading, but I guess you understand why.
This is so sad and heart-rending. And it happens to way too many kids today.
I was surprised that you wrote this as Hunter's first time, as the show made it appear that he'd been doing it for a long time prior to hustling n the streets. But this was way more impacting.
And the fact that Hunter was thinking he'd like to try a girl, and he didn't even like this, God, my heart just about burst wide open along with his tears at the end.
A couple of more thoughts regarding Brian hit me this time while reading. All that wandering around the hotel - naked - he's lucky no one saw him and got put in the slammer for public indecency.
And what are the people that rent that room gonna smell and think about the housekeeping staff???
And just a crazy thought - what the hell is the bellboy gonna do with the condom? Bathe in it? YUCK...
I better quit whle I'm ahead. Or maybe he'll stand on street corner and sell it to some woman! LOL

I deliberately didn't state Hunter's age here because it's over two years before we meet him in S3, and he only turns sixteen at the end of that season. l’d say he’s well shy of fourteen at this point. His mother seems to have pushed him to hustle with the 'You like young dick? For fifty, you can suck it. For one hundred, I'll let you fuck me' routine when Hunter was twelve. (In 4.01, in the courtroom, Mel brings up Hunter's statement about how Rita "coerced him from the age of twelve into acts of prostitution.")
For purposes of this story, I assumed that happened when he was close to thirteen and that Rita didn't watch him in action but just dropped him off on Liberty Avenue to earn money if he wanted a roof over his head. I have Hunter getting away with blow jobs and hand jobs up to this point. If he earned enough money, Rita wouldn't care how he did it.
Hunter’s so cocky and self-assured in canon - it had become a built-in defense mechanism - that what his preference might be never really gets addressed. The way he comes on to Brian, which is pretty funny, makes it seem that he must prefer men. Until Callie, but even then it’s not clear whether he likes women or men or possibly both.
Brian’s lucky no one else was in the hallway when he exited Telson’s hotel room… as far as we know :D He may have had to brazen it out and hope the display of his ‘charms’ kept him out of trouble.
If the guests complain (it can’t smell good in their hotel room!), let’s hope housekeeping doesn’t accept the blame. After an investigation, either fired or suspended without pay, Johnny the bellhop ends up on Liberty Avenue, hawking, “Brian Kinney’s fresh sperm. C’mon, what’ll you give me for it? Three hundred. No, five hundred from the lady in the camel coat. Do I hear six hundred?”
Obviously, that sperm’s not going to be fresh anymore, but the buyers don’t have the sense to beware. Who do we think snatched it up? For how much?
Does Brian hear about it? How does he react? Dun dun dun...

Poor Mikey... even when four others were commenting about 'Justin's attributes', Mikey's mindset was still on Brian's. Drooling and delusional idiots. Maybe Justin should do a cast of Brian's 'thang' and give them away as Christmas presents. Or buy ones close to Brian's, and tell them they are Brian's. So when 'the thangs' become more prominent than their partners, Mel and Ben can finally come to terms with who's more important.
Remind me to tell you something about how Mikey should have gotten naked for Ben and maybe distract him... (I hardly doubt it would have done the trick!) Some men have one-track minds.
And lastly... I'm sure glad I wasn't taking a sip of tea when Mikey said: "For Me?" My computer keyboard would have gotten soaked and probably burned it out.

I loved this. I don't see how people can't understand under all that gruff exterior, Brian is a true romantic with Justin. And he can't give flowers because of allergies. But he could take the time and turn one of their great and significant moments into a lovely replay, and saying all he right words.
And an extra hour to play around... after a breather, of course.

That said, I was really hoping if you put this story on here, you would have changed your bottom notes, because I believe every person out there knows or realizes Randall Morgan is NOT a HE. He was never even a person. All that was all over LJ YEARS ago. The fact that you would credit HIM, and not the true author, Carol, really hit a wrong chord with me. Many, many, many QAF fans were very upset when the truth came out, I would presume you were aware of that too. So many great authors were duped and disheartened by the news, and seeing you still crediting HIM today, well it's so wrong on so many levels, and greatly upsetting.

I was totally duped...so I'm sorry my accreditation has the wrong gender, but I still give credit to Randall, whoever & whatever he/she might be. So, was I the ONLY male fan-fiction writer for QAF? I don't remember any others. And...am I the only male fan-fiction writer in THIS group?

To be truthful, I'm not sure. I think several of these cover the same time period. It was an emotional conclusion to Season 2...and then a long hiatus before Season 3. Emotions were high. Fanfic writers were juiced-up and writing lots of stuff. If I put them in order, I'd say Brian' Aftermath, Passion by Proxy, and Moving On. And then there's the parallel Justin's Aftermath in 5 chapters that cover the same period. And there were also the weekly "diaries" of Brian (written by me) and Justin (written by Les) during Season 3 that covered some of the same break-up issues. We were writing maniacs whenever B&J were apart. I miss those emotional rollercoaster rides. By the way...Justin's Aftermath will be posted here in the next few days.
Post-episode 220, " the breakup," Justin's POV. Justin retrieves his belongings from the loft after he leaves the Rage party with Ethan. He then returns to Ethan's apartment where the two begin the odyssey of their relationship. Justin meets someone who will change his life forever. It is becoming clear that Justin is still thinking of Brian and wondering if he has made the right choice. Justin returns to the diner to discuss his situation with Debbie while she serves him a free breakfast. Later, he's invited to meet with a fan of his work. At her request, he reluctantly parts with a piece of himself. Justin regrets giving the drawing away and tries to recreate it, but is unsuccessful. Trying to clear his mind, Justin goes for a walk, only to run into a dancer from Babylon. Andre is only too happy to recount what has happened to Brian since Justin has left him. Justin and Ethan's relationship is already beginning to show strain. Despite the feared repercussions, Justin asks for the return of his drawing. The reaction is not what he was expecting. Instead, he learns about her philosophy of the artistic process... and of her opinion of Ethan. Justin returns to Ethan only to find that his jealous lover is determined to wipe Brian out of Justin's memory by destroying Justin's prize. Justin leaves... perhaps forever.

I don't think I've made Ethan any worse than his character in QAF. As much as I like string-players (I, myself was a cello player years ago), I think Ethan in QAF was a self-absorbed prick...and Justin finally realized it. Do you think the way I've written Ethan is similar to the QAF-series version? I'm curious...if the screenwriters of QAF had paired Justin with a highly-likeable character after the breakup with Brian...someone young, handsome, thoughtful, and loving...would you have accepted this pairing and left Brian alone?

I always wondered iif the main attraction of Justin for Ethan, was that he 'stole' him from 'The Stud'.
Repetitive and dull, yeah, he probably has to think of Brian to continue to excel in sex.
One (of many) things I think Cowlip got wrong, was that it took Ethan 'cheating' for Justin to leave him. They had no chemistry. And I know he missed Brian, that should have been enough to talk to Brian and work things out.
Anyway, in response to your question on my other review, yes, I think I could have agreed more with Justin having a new boyfriend. But what would that have taken to get him and Brian back together - because we know that had to be. Maybe Brian could have asked him to talk, and then try to work things out. So the whole thing of a nice boyfriend would have been hard, because I wouldn't have wanted to see the other guy get hurt. And Brian would have had to try monogamy - yeah, it wouldn't work.
My grandaughter that graduated two years ago, started playing violin at the age of four, and even though she was first chair in orchestra for her last four years of high school... she never got stuck up like Ethan. Oh... and she watched Ethan 'play' once and she said he was holding his violin wrong. I got a chuckle out of that.

I'm not good at analyzing Ethan. Sure, he was probably gloating a bit about stealing Justin, but I think he definitely was afraid of Brian. In my story, Ethan has few redeeming qualities...even when he tries to be romantic.
I thought a lot more readers would have been replying about the Art and Love speech by Justin's sponsor. [As a writer, I feel that was one of my best pieces of writing...ever.]
